Ya Heard: DJ Jazzy Jeff isn't in Kansas anymore

"Stupid is forever, ignorance can be fixed. "

-- Don Wood

The legendary DJ Jazzy Jeff fell victim to what is being called racism while performing in Kansas City this weekend. Apparently, he was told to leave the stage after he began playing hip-hop music as a part of Bacardi's B-Live Tour.

Following the incident, Will Smith's former DJ told the Kansas City Star, "My road manager walked up to me and said they were having problems with the music I was playing. I played three more songs and he comes back. I knew something was wrong. They said I had to change the format of the music I was playing or quit. They said if I continued playing they had 30 cops ready to come escort me off stage. So I stopped. …If they would have let my set play, they would have known I play everything. I play rock, funk, soul, pop, hip-hop, reggae. I don't play for a certain genre, race or gender. I play for music lovers… I didn't understand what element they were talking about. I looked out in the crowd and it was multicultural, but about 75 percent white. Everyone was having a great time. I wondered what was so offensive. I never had a race issue. I didn't know how to feel. I was playing [Biz Markie's] 'Just a Friend.' Is that offensive? What element? It's uncomfortable when you feel unwanted."

The show took place in the city's Power and Light district and according to some reports, the district has been accused of being prejudice toward hip-hop in the past. The district's president told the Kansas City Star: "The issue that arose with the performance last night was completely about the sound levels. His audio tech was maxing out the sound system to a point that risked damage to the speakers and sound system. His sound techs and management refused to bring the decibel level down. They were told to bring it down or cease performance. They refused to go on."

Sound levels, really? Sounds like a cop out to me. Aside from my place on a Friday evening, I've never heard of a deejay's performance stopped for sound levels…Shout out to Prince William's finest.

Red, Meth tour with Em?

Method Man and Redman recently told MTV they are going to be a part of Eminem's upcoming national tour. The two emcees were reportedly added to the lineup without Em knowing. "We're gonna jump on Em's tour -- we're putting it out there," said Meth.

This may be one of the duo's pranks, but I hope it is true. To be able to catch Em, Meth and Red in the same show would be incredible. We'll keep you posted.

T-Pain reveals his latest investment

T-Pain dropped jaws at a show in New Jersey last weekend when he unveiled his new seven-and-a-half pound diamond chain and pendant.

The 197-carat diamond encrusted pendant literally spells out the words "Big Ass Chain." Of his "achievement," T-Pain stated "It is a baby, actually. That's exactly how much my baby weighed -- seven and a half pounds…It's goin' down."

Not sure if this is breaking any records or anything, but I'm glad to see we are continuing to place our money in long term investments…

'Til next week, Peace!!!
