Seniors Manassas: Good to be out and about
Published: June 19, 2009
It certainly does feel good to feel good. I’ve jumped in with both feet this week and am enjoying being busy. My first “outing,” after fighting off pneumonia for a month, was going to a concert on Sunday.
The Prince William Chorale ended its season with a wonderful program of songs by Duke Ellington, George Gershwin and others composers of that era.
A good friend, who now lives in Texas, has been visiting the area to help celebrate her granddaughter’s high school graduation. On Tuesday evening some of us joined her for dinner at a local restaurant.
It was wonderful seeing her, exchanging photos and catching up with all the many things going on in all our lives.
Legal services
A representative from Northern Virginia Legal Services will be at the center Monday. Ron Settle will be available, by appointment only, to help with problems and concerns for seniors. Call the center at 703-792-6405 to reserve a time to visit with him.

The Commission On Aging will meet Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Woodbridge Senior Center.
Time to renew
It’s time to renew membership in the Manassas Center. For residents of Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park the fee for a full year of service remains at $18.50. The center, on Mosby Street in Manassas, is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In addition, the center is open most Wednesday evenings until 8 p.m. with a light supper being served, followed by a special program. Senior citizens are invited to visit the center and discover all that’s available for their enrichment.
