The Rev. Dr. Justin Allen will be the new pastor of Asbury United Methodist in Nokesville, the church announced this week.

Allen was raised in Burke and majored in religion, philosophy and ethics at Greensboro College, where he also played baseball and was named a GTE Academic All-American.

He then attended Wesley Theological Seminary and the University of Memphis, finishing with a doctorate in May.

While obtaining his doctorate, Allen also worked as an associate minister at a local United Methodist church and was named executive director of the Wesley Foundation at the university.

He is married to Dr. Alethea Allen. The couple lived in Memphis, Tenn., where she attended medical school

They are moving to this area, and Dr. Allen will begin working for Crestwood Pediatrics in Manassas in August.

The couple has two children and is extremely excited to be coming home to Virginia, to pastor at Asbury United Methodist in Nokesville and to be close to family and friends once again.
