Winery to host 'Taste

of the Islands' dinner

The Winery at LaGrange, 4970 Antioch Road, Haymarket, will sponsor a "Taste of the Is-lands" Wine Maker's Dinner on July 18 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Guests will feast under the stars on a Caribbean-themed menu. Each course will be paired with one of the winery's award-winning wines.

Chamber to install new president Saturday

Molly Grove of George Mason University will be installed as the new chairman of the Prince William County-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce at the 74th annual dinner dance installation of officers on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at City Palace Inc., 9720 Capital Court, Manassas.

She takes over for outgoing chairman Steve Nelson.

The theme of the event is A Night at the Opera.

Deal Wid It will provide the entertainment for the night.

Volunteers still needed for golf tournament

Volunteers are still needed to help at the concession stands at the 2009 AT&T National, hosted by Tiger Woods. The tournament will take place at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda Tuesday through July 5.

This is an opportunity for the Prince William Chapter of the American Red Cross to raise a lot of money to meet disaster relief needs in the community a provide a unique benefit to those who volunteer—a chance to see many famous golfers in action and a free meal with each shift worked.

Scheduled shifts for the local volunteers are Tuesday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and noon to close; Wednesday 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and noon to close; and Thursday, July 5, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and noon to close.

Talk to detail Leesylvania State Park journey

Paul Marine will be at the Leeyslvania State Park Visitor Center on Sunday at 6 p.m. to share his experi-ences and the knowledge he gained while visiting all 35 Virginia State Parks.

A CIA retiree, Marine became the first-known person to compete the "Parks and Paths Pass-port" program. Between 2005 and 2007, he spent time hiking at each park and taking photo-graphs.

A longtime resident of Northern Virginia, this project gave Marine the opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of the rest of the state—from the Tidewater to the Shenandoah and the Appalachians.
