The woman charged with killing her 13-year-old daughter is expected to enter a plea in Prince William Circuit Court Monday.

Alfreedia Leona Gregg-Glover, 44, is charged with first-degree murder, felony murder, felony child abuse and filing a false police report in the January death of her adopted daughter, Alexis “Lexie” Glover.

Gregg-Glover was scheduled to stand trial before a jury starting Monday, but is now scheduled to enter a plea to the charges instead.

It was unclear Thursday what the plea agreement entails. Calls to county Commonwealth’s Attorney Paul Ebert were not returned.

Lexie Glover’s death sparked an outcry in the community after it was revealed that police and social services had received several reports that the girl was neglected and abused.

In the aftermath of her death, a Prince William social worker was fired and two more were disciplined. In addition, a state investigation into county social services revealed low morale and inadequate staffing in the department.

Gregg-Glover reported Lexie missing from Central Library in Manassas on Jan. 7, sparking a massive search for the girl. Her adoptive mother appeared on television, pleading for information on the girl’s whereabouts.

Lexie’s body was found Jan. 9 in a shallow creek near the McCoart Administration building in Woodbridge.

Prosecutors allege that Gregg-Glover put the girl in the creek while she was still alive and before she reported her missing.

According to a medical examiner’s report, Lexie died of drowning and exposure to the cold.

Gregg-Glover is being held without bond at the Prince William-Manassas regional jail.

You guys are funny (Wilco, PAgirl, LewisMrl)..No need to pass judgment on me, this page isn’t about me!! Never been in jail but read and watch crime/prison shows!!  I write a little, just wanted to say what has been on my mind for a long time about this inhuman piece of crap, had a family member that let her boyfriend kill her 2 yr old son and S.S was to blame also for that incident they truly should go to jail also, so stuff like this hits home.…But just the same I hope Glover rots in jail, there is NO hope/cure for her, she had her chance to give Lexie back to S.S but she chose to abuse and collect her money instead..i want her to Breath and Suffer ETERNITY!!
R.I.P lexie

Dumb headline.  If she has been charged and is going to court, why wouldn’t she plead something - guilty, innocent, no contest. Duh.

I was sadden to hear about the little girl who was killed by her adopted mother.  The girl is at piece now, she does not have to endure any more torment or abuse because of this sick, unstable woman.  The justice system is lacking in the fact, putting the woman in prison will not bring the little girl back or make the woman remorseful for her actions.  The social worker and others involved, (the people who chose to look the other way when they were notified of the abuse - should also go to jail. I pray that the little girl is at piece, and I hope the Lord will have mercy on the woman’s soul.

Fry her save money for the county. That’s the only compassion i will show her. She killed a child and it was premeditated. Sad that it will be prison for her, hope she suffers in jail and i hope they get her in there.

Big Red, I don’t want to pass judgement on you and say that it sounds like you’ve served time, but I will say that you sound like a big fan of MSNBC’s Lockdown Series.  I live for Saturday’s when that show is on.

Anyway, as to this sick killer, I think the prison should post Alexi’s picture in her cell and make her face the reality of what she did everyday for the rest of her life while behind bars.  What she did was senseless.  If she couldn’t care for the child anymore all she had to do was call social services and have her taken into custody by the state and then placed into a loving home where someone would have cared for the young girl.  I hope the judge throws the book at this woman!

Justice will never be served as long as she breathes. SHe obviously has no conscience. Ver sad.

I’m hoping it will be as bad for her (in a woman’s prison)  when the other’s learn she left her handicapped child in a creek to drown as it would be for a male in prison who would kill or molest a child.

Thanks for the personal touch ‘big red’. I got a knot in my stomach when I was reading that - and the ending was perfect. You really should write for a living(something other than in this stupid newspaper post) - don’t know if from your personal experiences or from people you know. But it is good…

This Sick Inhuman Being is pleading guilty to get out of the death penalty…but when Glover realizes that she will NO LONGER BE FREE TO DO AS SHE PLEASE, WHEN SHE GO TO PRISON AND NOT JAIL…

when the only trips she will plan is a trip to see the Dr (for mental breakdown) or go to a prison library…

when she can’t eat what she want (food is worst than anything else imaginable)
when the only communication to the outside world is a phone call and letters from maybe a family member or so called friend…

when she is told when to get up and when to go to bed having to have permission to come and go…

when she becomes paranoid, constantly having to look over her shoulders in fear of the harm that Will come her way (you know the average prisoner hates those who hurt children) there is a CODE in prison!! and if given the opportunity, oh well you know the rest.. she need not be in an unsupervised area!!..

when the thoughts of taking her own life becomes greater and greater until she is living with it Every Day..

when she realize there is nothing but Concrete, Brick and Steel above and below on all sides of the wall and the mattress are thin and lumpy and do very little to cushion the flat metal bunks…

when she realize that she has to sleep with one eye open and having a bunk a foot away from the toilet doesn’t help the situation either or watch her cellmate use the bathroom (that’s going to be real unpleasant for her)... PRIVACY IS NON EXISTANT!!...

when she realize there’s only a few activities you can take part in if interested or just made to do so includes, RIOTS, DRUGS, GANGS, GAMBLING and SEX, those are just a few that she can pick from…GUARDS WONT BE ON HER SIDE EITHER!!

when she realize that it’s cold in the winter time and hot in the summer time…NO fans or heaters:(

when she realize she is stuck in the same place month after month and year after year, living the same hellish day over and over again (Satan’s version of Déjà vu)…
Being INSTITUTIONALIZED after so many years that she knows now will be her home,

when she break down and can’t deal with not having her freedom, or seeing the face of her foster daughter she murdered day in and day out.. and then realizing her LIFE IS OVER or just from being locked up for the rest of her life……. that’s when JUSTICE WILL BE DONE!!
THAT’S WHEN GLOVER WILL FINALLY PAY FOR HER HORENDOUS CRIME!!

Rest In Peace “Lexie”
