A group of about half a dozen pickets gathered in front of Chinn Park Regional Library on Tuesday evening to protest a Planned Parenthood meeting.

The protesters, many of whom held purple signs that said "Planned Parenthood Steals Souls," were protesting a Planned Parenthood volunteer training session being held inside

the library's community room.

"We're here to let people know that Planned Parenthood is not liked in the community," said Marie Hahnenberg, a researcher with American Life League, the group that organized the protest.

Planned Parenthood volunteers organizing the

training session said they had no comment on the protest.

Hahnenberg said the protesters were concerned that Planned Parenthood would be targeting young people in the training session.

According to a Web site for Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia, Tuesday's event was a training session for people interested in volunteering for Planned Parenthood events such as the Occoquan Riverfest, farmers' market and summer concerts.

The training session taught volunteers about the group's missions and services, its campaign for affordable birth control and specific volunteer opportunities, the Web site stated.

Hahnenberg said she and the other protesters were also concerned about Planned Parenthood meeting at the library.

"They should not be at a public library," she said.

According to the Prince William Public Library system's policy on public use of library community rooms, the library does not discriminate against individuals or groups for any reason, including "the political, religious, or social aims expressed by the individual or group, or by any group's members."

Any government agency or non-profit group can apply to use the meeting rooms, as long as the events are open to the public and no fundraising occurs, the policy states.

There is no hell, stop teaching fear! Let’s take all those who are in hell (for example), their loved ones i’m sure forgive them. So, how can it be that a human’s capacity for love and forgivenss can be greater than an all loving God’s capacity for love and forgiveness?
And how about the test of faith. This test is impossible to fail. Jesus Christ himself had his moment of doubt and faith, and he was God in the flesh. How could it be that christ question man’s faith when at sea. The scripture says “master…master the storm we’re all goiing to parish.“ Christ replies “Oh ye of little faith,“ he belittles us for our moments of doubt and we’re only human. I don’t blame god for this, but i do blame them men who write history (the catholic church for example).

Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion chain in the country. All you have to do is look at its own reports - it’s disgusting! We don’t need this kind of sick organization in our community! How dare them come to our library and brainwash our kids with their sexual agenda! Planned Parenthood killed 289,750 babies just last year. When the overall abortion number is decreasing, Planned Parenthoods numbers of killing babies increase. This group targets our young kids so it can get them on birth control and condoms - so that they will keep having sex, get more STDs, get pregnant and then Planned Parenthood will perform abortions. Thank God for American Life League. Look at the facts people! Planned Parenthood is NOT helping our children - only making the problem worse!

kindns,

Basically what you are saying is because there are so many “unwanted” babies, we should just kill them. I guess your point is that a life on the streets is worse than just terminating your life early on. Maybe so, but why are you blaming me and not the irresponsible people who conceived the child? We need to get to the root of the problem and educate kids better about sex, create restrictions, etc. Why is it that you have to be 16 to drive and 21 to drink alcohol but there is no age limit for having sex?

Another thing…under your reasoning it would be okay to chop a baby’s head off just after they are born. Why is it that people are appalled by such things and not by abortions?

Do you disagree with anything I am saying? Notice that I said I don’t believe the right to an abortion will ever be overturned.

I wish I had seen this discussion as soon as it started, as I would have been one of the first posters.

Those who are “offended” by abortion, should not have one.

This whole discussion is “offensive.“

Again I say: Unless/until YOU are willing to adopt the thousands and thousands of babies you want to condemn to life on the streets without food, education and medical care….and then of course you will bitch about the growing welfare problems YOU have created…..just shut up on the subject.

Unless you have a solution to the problem of thousands upon thousands of homeless children your self righteousness would cause….you are not saving children, but condemning them.

Just how many unwanted babies have YOU adopted??????

I, and a large number of our country’s population, are highly offended by the practice of abortion. I realize that Roe vs Wade will probably never be overturned. There needs to be an agreement…given that it is legal to get an abortion, we should do everything we can to DISCOURAGE them from happening. Sadly, this is not happening in Planned Parenthood, in schools, among doctors, or from the government. 3200 abortions are performed EVERY DAY in our country. This is outrageous and highly offensive to me. It is time to stand up for the rights of ALL individuals, including the unborn!

Maybe the young ladies who do not want to be mothers yet and the young men who do not want to be fathers should keep their legs closed and horse in the barn

I want to say a big Thank You to Planned parenthood. I was a Freshman in High School when the Dean of students called me into his office to tell me what a great student I was and that having all A`s was great I said Thank you and when I went to leave his office he said give me a hug. He Raped me I later found out I was pregnant went to my mom and said I wanted to go to planned Parenthood She was old fashioned but supported me in wanting to go to Planned Parenthood. They did not talk me into abortion they gave me all the options. So hooray for planned parenthood. What happened to the Dean you may wonder. We were Told Boys will be Boys. Turns out this happened to 25 other girls. Was he fired? NO. I take offense also to the comment about if a girl gets pregnant look at her parents pull you head out of well the sand. My parents and other parents were Great Parents. How about we look at the males
who get away with their antics.

QuestionAuthority - well said!

Susan - put down the paper and read that bible you keep toting.  Judgement is God’s, Love is kind, and how many people do you think you are positively witnessing to with your harsh tone?

GOD GAVE ME A BRAIN, NOT A BIBLE. THERE ARE JUST OVER 6,000 ORGANIZED RELEGIONS RECOGNIZED BY THE WORLD COUNCIL ON FAITH. THE CHANCES THAT YOU DRINK KOOL-AID FOR YOUR OWN CAUSE FALLS IN AT 1 IN 6,000 CHANCE. THAT IS IF ANY OF THEM IS CORRECT. I WILL NEVER ASK FOR FORGIVENESS FOR USING MY BRAIN. IF YOUR FEAR BASED RELEGIONS PREVENT YOU FROM ASKING WHY? WHY? WHY? THEN YOUR BEING CONTROLLED. FACT: CONTROLLING AN INDIVIDUAL OR GROUP A COMMON TACTIC IS FIRST CONTROL SEXUAL BEHAVIOR, THEN FOOD, THEN PIN GUILT AND FEAR AGAINST THOSE WHO REBEL. SORRY, BUT THERE IS NO NEED TO BE FORGIVEN HERE.
