Another Prince William County teenager has been killed in car crash. She is the second teen to die in a crash in less than a week.
Police said Alyssa Leighann Beach, 16, of the 10000 block of Schaeffer Lane in Nokesville, was driving west in the 12400 block of Vint Hill Road when she lost control of her car, went into a ditch and hit a tree.
She and a 16-year-old passenger, who was also in the car when it crashed, were taken to a local hospital where Beach later died Sunday.
Police said both girls were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash and speed or alcohol doesn’t appear to be a factor.
Both girls attended Brentsville High School.
Beach is the second teen to be killed in a car accident in less than a week.
On Wednesday 16-year-old Shelby B. Nicholson was coming home from the mall when the Chevy Aveo she was riding in collided with a Lincoln Aviator on Old Bridge Road in Lake Ridge.
She was pronounced dead on the scene. The 16-year-old driver was taken to the hospital in a coma.
As of the weekend the girl remained in the coma, a family member said.
Both girls attended Woodbridge High School.

To the Beach family I do not know you however, I pray to GOD that he will console you and get you through this difficult time. Once again sorry for your loss.
My heart goes out to the Beach family, the hundreds of students, and friends of Alyssa. I thought of her as a daughter and I feel that I have lost a part of my own family. What a beautiful and loving child to have around. She will be greatly missed for a long time.
God bless this beautiful child and may He comfort her family and friends at this tragic time. My sons were Alyssa’s very good friends. We are devastated and will miss Alyssa deeply. Her loved ones are in our thoughts and prayers. Hug your children every chance you get. Though it was only for a short while, this world is a better place because Alyssa was here.
My prayers go out to all families affected by these recent tragedies on our county.
As for the age in which drivers should be allowed to have a license. Maturity plays a part in whether you are ready to be on the road without supervision. The parent has the final say in their teen getting a license. We made our child wait until he was 18 to get a license no matter what the state requirements were, because we felt he was mature enough to have one. But I see many of his friends his age that are not ready, but have a license. It is up to the parents to help keep our children safe.
In this case, the accident was just that, an accident. It sounds like the teens were being responsible it was simply an unfortunate situation. That road can be tricky especially in bad weather which we had on Saturday.
My thoughts and prayers go out to both families. I don’t know either family, but I’m a parent of a Woodbridge High School student and the rate of losing our teens is sad.
How very sad for both families. I was so shocked when I heard about the Nokesville accident. I don’t know the Beach family, but our kids have run in the same circles. Words can’t even express how sorry I am, this family has had more than their fair share of tragedy and I can’t even imagine what they’re going through. I hope that they are able to find peace with time.
My prayers go out to the parents of the girls lost in these tragic events.
My prayers also go out to the girls who survived to be able to recover from the injuries and the emotional pain.
Now to the public, driving has become just another place to do other things besides get from point A to point B. People behind the wheel are reading the newspaper putting on makeup this one really gets me going women using eyelash brush at 70 mph on 66& 95 I have seen this quite a few times this has nothing to do with these young girls it does show that no matter the age we all have a chance to mess up & have an ACCIDENT because nobody has one on purpose
Years ago we lost a dear friend of my son from an accident in this area who was also 16. I remember the pain we all went through. It was also due to inexperience driving and bad weather. But then again, if you change the age of driving to 18, you will still have a new inexperienced drivers on the road. I think that perhaps when a teen is given a permit, it should take a little longer before they get their liscence so that they have more practice and supervision with a parent or an older driver. And I agree that accidents can happen to anyone, but we should do everything in our power to teach our children about safety and the dangers of speeding. My prayers goes out to this young girl and her family.
Your fine, I wasnt directing it all towards you, it was just in general. I know that since this happened i have driven more carefully, its amazing how life can change in one moment. Alyssa was an amazing person and her life should be celebrated. Everyone please keep praying for her family and friends <3
No matter the age, it is an automobile collision & yes, if you are speeding & are inexperienced, chances are it IS your fault. My point was that sadly, her life was lost as a result. I am not going to turn this into a debate session, this is the time for her friends & family to mourn her loss. I simply saw too many of them crying over the past 2 days & wanted to emphasize turning a negative into a positive. Again, to all my teens out there….drive SAFELY!
