O’Meara’s closes its doors
O’Meara’s located on Center Street shut its doors in late April
Once known for its vibrant nightlife, Old Town Manassas Irish pub O'Meara's closed for good in late April.
Established in 2003, O'Meara's was located in a strip mall on Center Street next to Prince William County/Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce and sandwich shop Deli Depot.
Owner Mike O'Meara, 50, was the co-host of the "Don and Mike" syndicated radio program and currently hosts the Mike O'Meara Show on WJFK-FM.
Some of O'Meara's business neighbors were unclear as to why he closed his place but at least one noticed it was struggling. Since late March, it was only operating on Fridays and Saturdays, said Deli Depot owner Casey Becker.
Becker said this year's St. Patrick's Day—normally a "zoo"—was the worst he'd seen since the business opened five years ago.
O'Meara didn't return phone calls Tuesday.
Chamber of Commerce President Debbie Jones said her employees often had business lunches there. "We are sad they are gone," Jones said. "It was very convenient for us."
O'Meara is a part-owner of the shopping center, which includes the city of Manassas Family Services and the Recreation and Parks departments, Jones and Becker said.

I think it is such a sad thing that O’Meara’s has closed down, for the last 2 1/2 years this is where all my friends and I have congregated thursdays, fridays and saturdays nights! Mike O’Meara was a such a nice guy and had a great thing going here! It started to go down hill when the managment changed and never bounced back. I have made many friends here and am greatful for that! O’Meara’s will truely be missed!!!
Manassas was dying long before Stewart and Letieq and the positive actions of the Resolution came about. MS-13 and the illegal immigrants brang all their problems with them, forcing their burdens on the legal immigrants of this area throught their crimes of murder, social services theft, identity theft, forged documents, trash, overcrowding of houses and other buildings, etc. etc. etc. No need to file any affidavits with the police when this goes on day after day until ICE or the police make another bust to quell the ongoing problem, a “National Nightmare”. How did you like the race riot that was censored by the AP at Locke high school in California. Why is California so soft on illegal immigration the major problem of the ballooning out of control budget there. I could go on and on about poll after poll showing Americans distate and hatred of illegal immigration, however it will only bring more lies from you. As for the illegals that were dumb enough to sign a mortgage contract without reading it, i say good riddance. Chris Cummings
zcx, why should I not be proud of myself? I had nothing to do with Manass’ dying. It was HSM, Stewart, Letieca, et al and the resolution. Immigrants moved to Manassas because Americans sold or rented to them - the housing bubble of greed. As a man soeth, so shall he reap. The PWC economy sure lived good for years off the Hispanics cheap labor didb’t they?>i
I have steadily seen that area go downhill over the years, maybe with all these sleazy restaurants disappearing something nice will take its place. Chris Cummings
Too bad they couldn’t keep that young guy Mike who was the general manager there. Things went downhill once he left for greener pastures. Service was bad after that and it got sleazy.
Phdee Manassas started dying when all the illegal immigrants started flooding it. This has been going on for a while. Especially since the failure of the 1986 Amnesty Act and has only worsened since the 90’s when illegal immigration increased catastrophically. Enforcement of “Federal Law” and a fair living wage for legal workers is the only solution. Manassas is being killed by those so called by the media as saviours of the US economy. Are you proud of yourself Phdee? Chris Cummings
Glad to see it close. Less work for the cops on Friday and Saturday night, less drunks on the road. Now someone put a decent priced family restaurant there. How about a nice steakhouse.
It’s sad to see any business fail. I hope someone steps up and make great use of the place. We need more places within the “old town” area.
More evidence of the dying of Manassas.
That palce had the worst costomer service.
