Police find wire cutters, charge two with larceny

A couple was charged with walking out of a Manassas area department store without paying for $205.95 worth of merchandise.

Robert E. Robinson, 40, of 1055 Grandview Loop in Woodbridge and Latasha Lewis, 28, of 9315 Taney Road in Manassas, both were charged with grand larceny, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.

Robinson was also charged with possession of burglary tools after officers found wire cutters inside his pockets, said Hernandez.

Both were held without bond and are scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 28.

Man reports attackers broke his jaw

Police are looking for five men who allegedly attacked a 32-year-old man in the area of Emerald Drive and Rapidan Lane near Manassas on Wednesday night.

The man was walking home from work about 11:30 p.m. when a car pulled up and stopped next to him. Five men got out and attacked him, rifling through his pockets and breaking his jaw, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.

The man's pockets were empty, so they made off with nothing. The victim was treated at a local hospital.

The four men are described as black, 25 to 30 years old, about 6 feet 2 inches tall, all wearing dark T-shirts.

A fifth man was also described as Hispanic, between 25 and 30 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, thinly built, brown hair, wearing an orange T-shirt and had earrings in both ears.

Two robbed at gunpoint near Manassa

Two women said an acquaintance asked them for a ride and then robbed them at gunpoint.

The victims, a 31-year-old woman and a 34-year-old woman both from Brandy Station in Virginia, said it happened about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 7800 block of Sudley Road near Manassas.

The man asked the women to stop the car and then threatened them with a gun and demanded cash, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.

The women handed it over and the man got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The man is described as black, in his early 20s, about 6 feet 1 inches tall with a medium build, and has dreadlocks.

The victims were not injured in the robbery.

Gainesville pair charged with heroin,  public drunkenne

A Gainesville couple was arrested Tuesday and charged after police were called to investigate a report of a disorderly person.

It happened in the 17300 block of Dumfries Road in Dumfries about 3:45 p.m., when during their investi-gation officers found heroin and drug paraphernalia on 31-year-old Jeffery Sanders, of 15070 Gaffney Circle.

Also arrested was 30-year-old Jamime Yeatman, of 5975 Pageland Lane. Yeatman was charged with pos-sessing drug paraphernalia and with public intoxication.

Sanders was held on a $2,500 bond and Yeatman was held on a $3,500 bond.

Both are scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 17.

Woodbridge man accused of assaulting two wome

A Woodbridge man is accused of assaulting both a 19-year-old and a 50-year-old woman during an argu-ment, and then lying about his identity to the police.

Police were called to the 3500 block of Bath Court in Woodbridge about 11 p.m. on Wednesday, when the two women were in an argument with 45-year-old John F. Terry, of 14617 Bakersfield St. He allegedly kicked and punched the 50-year-old in her face, thigh and forearm, said Prince William police spokes-woman Erika Hernandez.

The 19-year-old also suffered minor injuries.

Hernandez said Terry also gave the arresting officer false information about his identify.

He was released an a $2,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 18.
