Police briefs for July 4
Bristow man charged with firing BB gun in public
Police charged a man for discharging a firearm in a public place, which they later learned was a BB gun.
Prince William Police Officer J.M. Rollinger saw a man pull out a revolver and fire a round in a parking lot in the 10300 block of Portsmouth Road, near Manassas.
With the help of additional police officers, Rollinger arrested 19-year-old Desean Michael Corley, of 12190 Emory Falls Court in Bristow, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernan-dez.
After his arrest police learned the revolver was indeed a BB gun.
No one was injured.
Corley was held on a $2,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 24.
Man headed to court
over iPod, cell phone
Police say a Bristow man stole an iPod and a cell phone, and now he is going to court.
Officers were called to the 11300 block of Democracy Lane in Bristow to investigate an unrelated event when they learned that Sean Ganesh Rambilas, 24, of 11317 Democracy Lane, had the items in his possession, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.
Police took the stolen property from him and released Rambilas on his own recognizance.

That bb gun must have made a heck of a noise when it was fired!
It did say that it was LATER determined to be a BB gun. Additional officers were probably called in due to an armed man in a parking lot. Better safe than sorry and he is lucky he wasn’t shot for being stupid enough to brandish/fire a handgun in public. A $2k bond is a small price to pay.
Plenty of handguns in the blotters being stolen from unlocked vehicles (no sign of forced entry). That’s stupidity!
BB gun?
Additional officers brought in?
Held on $2000 bond?
We are saved!!
