Prince William County police are investigating three indecent exposures within two days.

On June 3, a boy exposed himself to a woman and girl in Woodbridge, police spokeswoman Sharon Richardson said Tuesday.

It happened about 6:30 p.m. in the 12700 block of Ripple Creek Court. The victims, a 33-year-old woman and an 8-year-old girl, both of Woodbridge, reported they were walking along a path behind the houses when a youth greeted them and asked for their help returning a turtle to the woods.

After doing so, the youth walked away from them, then shouted something. When they turned, they saw that he had pulled down the front of his shorts. He then got on a silver-colored bicycle and rode away.

The boy was black and 13 to 15 years old. He was about 5-foot-4 and weighed about 120 pounds.

He was wearing a black shirt, black shorts and black-and-white tennis shoes.

Also on June 3, a man exposed himself to a 17-year-old Dale City girl.

It happened about 3:30 p.m. on Eastman Street at Darbydale Avenue in Dale City. The victim reported that she was walking to her job when a man pulled up next to her in a car and asked for directions.

When she approached the car —– a light blue “boxy” style vehicle —– she saw that he was exposing himself. The victim backed away from the car and the man drove off.

He was white and between 25 and 35, stood about 5-foot-10 and weighed about 160 pounds. He had short, light brown hair and was wearing light-colored blue jeans at the time of the incident.

On June 2, a man exposed himself to a Lake Ridge woman at her home.

The incident occurred around 11:36 p.m. in the 3500 block of Golf Side Circle in Lake Ridge. The 28-year-old victim reported that someone knocked on her residence door. She saw a man standing there but didn’t open the door because she didn’t recognize him.

She said the man then went to her window and began to knock on it. When she answered the door, the man asked questions and began lewd behavior. She closed the door and called police.

He was white and 40 to 50 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 180 pounds. He was wearing a ball cap, a plain gray T-shirt and blue/green shorts at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information on any of the cases is asked to call Prince William police at 703-792-6500.

These recent incidents come on the heels of two weekend reports of indecent exposure in Manassas.

City police arrested a 40-year-old man Friday for standing naked in the roadway near a bus full of Metz Middle School students, a police spokesman said.

Manassas officials are also searching for the driver of a white van who exposed himself to two children, ages 4 and 6, Saturday evening on Wood Drift Circle, police said.

I am concerned that in all three of the incidents, the people communicated and responded to them.
Why?
Especially in the wooded area why place your child at risk, obviously these are sad individuals who seek to find manhood and have no good examples so they do this foolishness, but they may also have been taught bad things by others and there could have been someone else waiting in the woods, besides their just wanting fifteen minutes in the news. I would not have spoken with the youth of that age in the woods, would have gotten out of the woods, I would not have spoken in extended conversation with a motorist I did not know and if someone is in our neighborhood that we are not familiar with and they are knocking on windows we are calling the authorities which would start with the neighborhood management.  Proper protocol in the neighborhood means you go properly to someone’s door and the person will speak to you through a window if they are unsure of you.
