Mill campaign expands board members

Charles Seilheimer, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turn The Mill Around Campaign, announced the expansion of the board to include Adrienne Cook Garreau, Scott District planning commissioner.

"As we look forward into the future to find new ways to fund the work we are doing at Chapman/Beverley Mill," Seilheimer said, "we felt that enlarging the board of directors would be good for the other members and good for the mill. I'm really pleased that Adrienne has accepted the position."

Garreau, an active volunteer in TTMAC, joined board members Jim Davis, Chris Ohrstrom, Earl Douple and Andrea Currier.

Ellen Percy Miller of Haymarket is executive director of the campaign, which is headquartered in The Plains.

TTMAC was formed following the 1998 fire that devastated the mill. Since then, with campaign fundraising and grants identified and obtained through Percy Miller's efforts, Chapman/Beverley Mill has been stabilized and is planned to be open to the public. The mill, which straddles Fauquier and Prince William counties, dates back to colonial times and is the largest freestanding stone structure in America.
