Something for everyone at OPHS’s spring concert

Don’t forget to join the Osbourn Park Choral Department for its Spring Concert on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the school’s auditorium. All five of OP’s ensembles will perform a variety of music. There will be something for everyone with classical, jazz, musical and pop styles represented. Admission is free.

Lighthouse Assembly of God will host a yard sale Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the corner of Sudley and Gum Spring roads. This sale is to raise funds for summer camp. Spaces may also be rented for $10 each by calling Pastor Carlos Martinez at 703-754-2772.

Manassas police, schools to hold safety forum

A “Parent Information Safety Night,” sponsored by Manassas City Public Schools and the Manassas City Police Department, will be May 27 in Osbourn High School’s auditorium from 7 to 9 p.m. This public forum will address cyber bullying and cell phone safety. The committee for this forum has also invited several stakeholders from the technology outreach community to take part.

Haydon PTA schedules yard sale May 30

Haydon Elementary PTA will hold a yard sale May 30 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. You can rent a space for $20 or two spots for $30. It is also looking for donations of items to sell. The money raised will
go toward the end-of-the-year party for fourth-graders.

Center plans Americans with Disabilities Act Fair

Independence Empowerment Center will have its third Annual Americans with Disabilities Act Fair on July 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Harris Pavilion in Manassas. IEC is looking for businesses and non-profits to be vendors. It is also in need of donated items for its silent auction and volunteers.
