BRAC fairs scheduled for July

Two BRAC Community Information Fairs are planned for next month.

The dates are July 14 and July 29 and there could be as many as 200 to 300 employees at each.

The fairs are for employees who are scheduled to relocate to the Marine Corps Base Quantico.

Employees of the five BRAC-affected agencies—DSS, Defense Intelligence Agency, Army Criminal Investigation Command, Air Force Office of Special Investigation and Naval Criminal Investigative Ser-vice—have been invited to attend either one of the two sessions which run from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

opportunities for these employees to meet and greet community members and discuss topics such as trans-portation, housing, childcare, health care and more.

The event will be set up in a market-style environment with information tables to allow employees to move about and gather information as needed. The federal agencies are providing transportation to and from the fairs.

There will be a few community and business leaders making brief presentations but the emphasis is on the information booths.

Free booths will be available to public education institutions, not-for-profit community groups and gov-ernment agencies.

Private, for-profit firms are encouraged to participate and may purchase a booth for a $1,000 fee, which covers both fairs, any

additional fairs that may be scheduled in the future (as necessary), credit in all written materials as an event sponsor and listing on the Alliance website as an event sponsor.

The event is sponsored by the Quantico/Belvoir Regional Business Alliance, in cooperation with the Woodbridge Campus of Northern Virginia Community College where it will take place, the News & Mes-senger and the Quantico Growth Management Committee.

The News & Messenger is also preparing a printed "Pocket Guide" with community informa-tion on both Prince William and Stafford counties.
