The Prince William SPCA is partnering with the Washington Humane Society's Spay/Neuter Clinic to bring affordable and convenient spay/neuter options to our community. The Neuter Commuter will travel to PWC once a month to pick up approximately 30 cats and dogs and take them to D.C. for the spay/ neuter procedures. Pets return the same evening and are picked up by their families.
Fee for either procedure is $50 for cats and $100 for dogs. Other low-cost services, such as rabies vaccina-tions, will also be offered at the time of registration. There is no income requirement so anyone can partici-pate, but space is limited. The van will run monthly starting July 15; however the frequency of the service will be expanded if the need increases. Future confirmed dates are Aug. 12 and Sept. 16.
The Coles VFD will serve as pick-up and drop-off location for the spay/neuter transport program. Local transportation assistance is being offered by the Doodlebug Dog Walker, which provides pet taxi services. Animals must be dropped off by 5:30 a.m. on the day of surgery and picked up at 7 p.m. For more informa-tion, visit http://www.pwspca.org
