Seniors Woodbridge: Red, white and blue festivities

Seniors Woodbridge: Red, white and blue festivities
» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

This year is really moving right along. Here we are looking at the Fourth of July next week. Along with the coming of July, the hot muggy weather has arrived in full force. All we have to do is keep cool for a couple of months and we will be looking at fall. As children it took forever for the year to pass and now it zips right along so fast we can hardly keep up.

Patriotic festivities

Stars & Stripes is Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Come join us in our All-American menu of hamburgers and hot dogs, dressed up or down—-anyway you like them…. and other picnic fare. Wear your red, white and blue and be ready to enjoy our Independence Day celebration.

Join us for a fun filled sing-a-long, dancing and flag-waving salute to our great country. Menu items for lunch will also be red, white and blue!

Renewal time

Membership renewals in July begin Prince William County’s 2010 fiscal year, which means that it’s a good time to inquire if your annual membership renewal is due.
We strive to keep the most current information on file, and we ask that you do this annually. Before you stop by, make sure you have the necessary information with you:

1. Any changes to emergency contact names and phone numbers (to include work and cell phone numbers).

2. A list of any medical changes since the last time you updated your information.

3. Any new prescription medications you may be taking.

Senior Center memberships are renewed annually, although not all memberships renew in July. If in doubt, please stop by and ask a staff person to look up your renewal date.

Membership donations have not increased. It’s still $18.50 per year to be a member of both senior centers.

Christmas in July

Celebrate Christmas in July on July 17 at 10:30 a.m.

There are some children in Prince William County who are less fortunate. The Woodbridge Senior Center is going to host a Christmas in July party and everyone brings a gift — school supplies, of course.

For your entertainment, we will have a Christmas tree, a delicious Christmas dinner with all the trimmings and we will sing Christmas carols. It’s OK to come all dressed up in Christmas colors and fashions. This includes the Santa hats.

Sunnyside’s perform

The Sunnyside’s will appear at the Prince William Senior Center at Woodbridge on July 24. This will be a late opening with doors open at 2 p.m.

Come have dinner and sing and dance to the tunes of the Sunnyside’s. They will play bluegrass, country/western and traditional type music. A $2 donation holds your reservation.
