A Woodbridge man pleaded guilty Monday in Fairfax County Circuit Court to second-degree murder for stabbing his ex-girlfriend in Vienna in July.

According to Fairfax police, Ehsan Amin stabbed 25-year-old Homaira Rahman to death near her Vienna home July 3.

A passerby found her body near the Washington and Old Dominion Trail about 6:30 a.m. the next morning.

Amin, of the 16000 block of Kings Mountain Road in Woodbridge, was arrested later that day, according to an affidavit for a search warrant on file in Prince William Circuit Court.

Amin was originally charged with capital murder for Rahman’s death, according to online court records.

At a preliminary hearing, police said Amin stabbed Rahman more than 90 times.

Police said that Amin and Rahman had dated on and off in the past.

On a memorial Web site, Rahman’s friends said her “generosity and the warmth of her personality brightened many lives.”

On the site, http://www.homairarahman.org, her friends set up a memorial fund to collect donations for charities Rahman supported.
