LETTER: Greed and local county government
Published: June 26, 2009
I want to talk about the “greed factor” of our local government here in Prince William County. I have been unemployed for some time not of my own choosing, and I am currently living out of my vehicle.
I have been unable to pay my personal property tax this year due to my situation. The county now can put a stop on re-registration on your vehicle if tax is not paid. I have been paying taxes in this county
for near 40 years and have always paid. I need new tags on my car this month and won’t be able to do so because of a mere $347.00 owed. So there goes my current home and means of transportation
for searching for future employment, all because of a small sum of money.
I have had to readjust my lifestyle, what little I have due to my circumstances, so why can’t Prince William County? Talk about kicking someone while they are down; way to go PWC.

Read the author’s name REAL CLOSE scorps. Slowly ... slowly .... get it?
Scorpio:
Sure seems like Garfield’s quote in your pst applied to the Bush administration.
This is sad especially after the numerous Obama’s tax-evading tax-cheating appointees for his administration.
Or the pardoned by Bill Clinton Mark Rich who owed $48 million in taxes and was charged with 51 counts of tax fraud…
Come 2012… Come…
“Now more than ever before, the people are responsible for the character
of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness, and corruption.“
