Time to put our feet down for planet Earth

I was appalled to learn that John McCain was the only senator who two weeks ago chose to skip a crucial vote on the future of clean energy in America — dooming the measure to fail by just a single vote.

Now I am even more appalled to learn that this is a pattern with Senator McCain. On the League of Conservation Voters scorecard he received a 0 for missing the 15 most important environmental votes in 2007. McCain’s score of 0 is lower than members of Congress who died last year.

John McCain’s LCV score exposes the real record behind the rhetoric: A lifetime pattern of voting with polluters and special interests and ducking the important votes.

It is time we put our foot down for the place we all call home —planet Earth.

Big Oil and the Big 3 auto control the whitehouse regardless of the party living there. Ethanol is a joke. If you want real progress in energy conservation and greenhouse gas, fight to get high MPG cars sold in the US. Fight for wind and solar energy. Fight to bring in the good, and the bad will fade away.

Is time to put your feet on earth, Senator McCain is sponsor of the S.280 , a program to accelerate the reduction of greenhouse gas emission.

Someone else has to put their feet in the planet earth. Senator McCain is cosponsor of the S. 280 to reduce the green house gas emission. By the other hand Senator Obama has the highest record for “not vote” nice way to change our country.

Where has Obama been other than 80% absent? It seems like he needs to vote more often. A little on the job experience couldn’t hurt you know? At least McCain has been voting in the Senate more often while campaigning. Obviously not perfect voting but definitely making more of an effort. Chris Cummings

A recent political cartoon renamed John McCain as John W. McBush.

I think that says it all.
