Wizards need a changing of the guard

After Friday night’s loss to the New Orleans Hornets, the Oklahoma City Thunder, formally known as the Seattle SuperSonics, fired head coach P.J. Carlesimo.
Carlesimo had led the Thunder to a dismal 1-12 record, losing to the Hornets 105-80.
Scott Brooks was named interim coach.
Carlesimo came to Oklahoma City with the team when it moved from Seattle and as the team’s head coach had a 21-75 record in 95 games.
So who is next to go?
All fingers point to Washington’s Eddie Jordan.
It’s time for a change in D.C., where the Wizards, who are playing without Gilbert Arenas, are a pathetic 1-9 and losing games by wide margins.
There is nothing magical about this Wizards team.
With a 1-4 home record and an 0-5 mark entering Saturday night’s game at Madison Square Garden against the up and coming New York Knicks, Jordan has all but thrown in the towel for this season.
The Wizards are young, but after a season where they made it to the NBA’s Eastern Conference playoffs without Arenas most of the way, this team is disappointing.
Caron Butler is leading the team in scoring, averaging 19.9 points per game, to go with 7.1 rebounds an outing.
Antwan Jamison is scoring 19.4 points per game and is leading the team in rebounding, averaging 8.7 boards per game.
Injuries have played a role so far for the Wizards this year and Friday night saw the return of Antonio Daniles to the lineup after missing the previous four games. Daniels is averaging 3.8 assists per game.
The only other Wizard averaging double figures is Nick Young at 13.0 points per game.
Washington is playing uninspired basketball and a changing of the guard for the Wizards is sorely needed.
Another coach who should be looking over his shoulder is Los Angeles Clippers head coach Mike Dunleavy, who has led his team to a 2-10 mark entering Saturday’s game at New Jersey against the Nets.
FRIDAY NIGHT, Woodbridge’s De’Antwan Williams and his Vikings had their undefeated season come to an abrupt end thanks to the Osbourn Eagles.
It also ended Williams chase for the Group AAA all-time rushing record.
Williams finished the season with 6,901 career rushing yards, 255 yards short of Elan Lewis’ record of 7,156 yards.
Now Williams will turn his attention to the next level and which university he will attend and play college football.
In the mix, the University of Alabama and West Virginia University.
SPEAKING OF OSBOURN, the Eagles have become giant killers.
Two weeks ago it was undefeated Battlefield that the Eagles knocked out of the playoffs. And as stated above, Friday night it was undefeated Woodbridge which was eliminated by the Eagles.
This Saturday, Osbourn will get a chance at hat trick, as it plays host to undefeated xxxxxx.
AND FINALLY, what would a week be like if there wasn’t a pick against the Washington Redskins?
Seattle 24, Washington 23.
