Support your local farmers, gardeners, bakers, crafters and producers. Plan to shop at the Nokesville Farmers' Market, opening its third season on May 23.

This year, the market will begin two weeks earlier and will end in late September.

The market's hours also have increased and will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Market participants and Nokesville area residents will reconvene on the third Saturday in October to celebrate Nokesville's traditional Brunswick Stew Day, hosted by the Nokesville Ruritans.

For information, call Pablo Teodoro, market manager, at 703-794-7057 or 703-401-8128.

Spiritual Care Ministries opens office in Bristow

Spiritual Care Support Ministries will launch a satellite office in Bristow on May 13.

Located at Manassas Assembly of God Church, 11500 New Life Way, the office will be open Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for individual support and GriefShare groups.

"GriefShare is a place to meet with others who have lost someone they love," the Rev. Liz Danielsen said. "GriefShare support groups offer practical support and a Biblical perspective to help hurting people recover from their loss, renew hope for their future and rebuild their lives. I am privileged to be able to meet people in their most difficult moments of life. As we journey together, we are all changed. There is nothing I would rather be doing."

An evening GriefShare group meets Wednesdays through June 12 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. A daytime GriefShare group is also being planned, and other support groups will be offered as needed.
