EVERYTHING is FREE at LifeFest 09

Leave your money at home on Saturday, June 13 and join your friends in the community at LifeFest!  LifeFest is a community event that offers gently used items, food, games and a live kid’s show at no cost! The event will run from 10a.m. to 1p.m. and is located at the historic Hayloft Dinner Theatre/Elks Lodge in Manassas, 10501 Balls Ford Road.

Over 5,000 people attended the last LifeFest event and were given food baskets, appliances, household items, and clothing all at absolutely no cost to them!

This year, at our premiere event, a Kids Show Stage, the kids will enjoy a great show, cartoon characters, moon bounces, carnival type games and prizes.
The whole family will enjoy the Community Giveaway, where families who are having trouble making ends meet will find gently used items, in great working conditions for free.  Items that have been donated are children’s items, such as toys, clothing, car seats, strollers, infant seats, etc.; entertainment items, such as books, videos, DVDs, CDs, etc.; and household items, such as furniture, large and small appliances, decorative items, and plenty of non-perishable food, etc.  A FREE food and beverage tent will serve drinks, pop-corn, and hotdogs to all who attend. 

Over the past six years there has been a growing interest in the community to participate with LifeFest through donating gently used children’s items, household items, non-perishable food and furniture.  Donations are now being accepted and may be brought to the Pack Rat storage units at 10501 Balls Ford Road.  Please call 703.330.0881 for drop-off instructions.  (All items donated will be given away at absolutely no cost during LifeFest ’09 to local families in need.)

LifeFest is sponsored by The Making Life Better Foundation and area businesses.  David Baird, the President of the Making Life Better Foundation, is spearheading the event.  “It is refreshing to offer the community something that really has no strings attached.  No money is necessary.  This is an event that will help underprivileged families all over Manassas and Prince William County. People can come and enjoy an outing, pick up items that they need for their home, eat some great food, and give their kids a day to remember!  We have a team of a couple hundred people who are working hard to make this day enjoyable and impacting for all who attend,” says Baird.
