—GALA Hispanic Theatre, based in the Tivoli Theatre building in Washington’s Adams Morgan neighborhood, “opens” The Mummy in the Closet: the Return of Eva Peron, on Thursday. Based on true events, this bizarre comic tale looks at what happened to the mummified remains of Argentinean First Lady and cultural icon Eva Peron following the ouster of her dictator husband Juan in 1955.
You can cuddle up to Mummy at GALA through June 28.

—Finally, Round House Theatre in Bethesda brings back a special ticket offer for their current show, A Sleeping Country. A comedy about an insomniac who travels to Venice in search of sleep, Country continues through June 28. As Round House did with One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, patrons who show proof that they’re 30 years old or younger at the box office can purchase tickets for the special price of $10.
Clubs and Concerts:

The outdoors and the indoors are alive with the sounds of all kinds of music as the summer season rolls on.

—Wolf Trap welcomes the Cirque du Solei spin-off Cirque Dreams for their presentation of “Jungle Fantasy,” a mix of music. motion and acrobatics, Thursday.
Singer/songwriter John Prine is on stage Friday. Talking Heads co-founder David Byrne performs an mix of original music and classic Heads tunes Saturday.
On Sunday, Wolf Trap celebrates the rollicking sounds of the bayou with their 20th Annual Louisiana Swamp Romp.
Celtic Woman begins the new week with crystal clear harmonies on June 8. Only lawn seats are available for this show.
The intoxicating, genre hopping sounds of Pink Martini fill the air on June 9 and the Indigo Girls headline on June 10.

—Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Md. hosts the annual Capital Jazz Fest, starting Friday. A wide variety of jazz & R & B performers, including Al Jarreau, are on the bill.
There’ll also be food vendors, artists and craftsmen selling their wares. The festival continues through Sunday.

Earth, Wind & Fire share the Pavilion main stage with Chicago on June 10.

—The Ram’s Head Tavern in Annapolis has an eclectic bill of fare on tap. Blue Oyster Cult takes the stage on Thursday. Veteran British singer and songwriter Robin Hitchcock and his latest band, the Venus 3, perform a show for all ages at the Tavern on Sunday. Start time is 1 p.m.

Rock and roll icon Little Richard is the headliner on June 9.

—The Patriot Center, on the George Mason University campus, welcomes the reunited New Kids on the Block for a June 7 show.

—The State Theatre in Falls Church features the sound of the 1980’s with The Legwarmers on June 5 and 6.

—The David Grisman Quartet takes the Birchmere’s stage Thursday, while soul singer Freddie Jackson begins a weekend stand at Blues Alley in Georgetown the same night. Enjoy!
