Good Morning Prince William. I have the perfect reason to take off on Friday and have fun while helping those terrific folks at Project Mend-A-House. It's not too late to register for their first golf tournament this Friday at Bristow Manor Club. Tickets are just $100 and include lunch, great door prizes and Captain's Choice 4-person scramble. And if you're not a golfer how about sponsoring a hole? Please call 703-398-7442 or e-mail Andrea at for more information. All proceeds help keep seniors and people of all abilities stay safe in their own homes.

Also this weekend, our super professional fire and rescue personnel are sponsoring the First Annual Antlers and Arrows Archery Tournament in memory of Technician Johnny Thomas. This promises to be a fun day for the whole family with moon bounce, face painting, swimming, crafts and much more for the kids. This event helps families dealing with cancer within the fire and rescue family. This event will be held in Catharpin. Tickets are just $20 for a round of shooting, a meal ticket and a chance for a door prize. All the fun starts at 9 a.m. Please call Danny Beck at Station 11 at 703-369-5396 or Mickey Beck at Station 25 at 703-367-9700 for more information.

And please don't forget this weekend is also the kickoff for the Action in the Community Through Service Turning Points Fall Volunteer Training. And last but not least those fun folks at the Bull Run Mountain Conservancy invite you to the Halloween Safari. This event takes you on a one hour night-time hike through the Bull Run Mountain. The guide will lead you along the trail where you'll meet native wildlife that performs natural history skits. There is also face painting, Halloween snacks, hot cider, bonfire and live music.
