Pennington does the best with what it has

Pennington is one of two traditional schools in the county compiled of student’s grade first through eight. We are at a disadvantage by not having a gymnasium but have put together a few programs to keep our students fit and healthy.

Each day the students have physical education and start the class with a ticket run. The ticket run consists of each student carrying a card that receives a check each time they complete a lap around the track. To help with motivation we post a chart in the hallway and marks the progress of each student. On Friday we have created “Fitness Friday” which is a form of fitness boot camp. This boot camp focuses on aerobic training, lower body strength training, and upper body strength training and the students rotate from station to station for 40 minutes.

I have put together “A New Year, A New You” poster that will be hung around Pennington. This poster lists Fit & Healthy tips for students.
