On the weekend of Aug. 1, Tom and Peggy Purnell, longtime, almost lifetime, residents of the Occoquan/Woodbridge area, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Virginia Beach. They were accompanied by their family: Lisa Purnell Sikes and husband, Steve; grandkids, Ashley and Christopher Scriber, and their great-granddaughter, Hailey, of Sandy Hook. Also in attendance were the best man, Mickey Mooney and his wife, Nancy, of Woodbridge; and Doris Waggy Moore and her husband, Kenneth, of Darlington, S.C.

Wow, 50 years.  Was there ever a time without each other… Thats just wonderful.  In an age of disposable ‘everything’ it’s refreshing to see two people who are commented to each other.

Congratulations hope there are many more wedding anniversaries to celebrate!
