Police have arrested a 48-year-old man in the beating and sexual assault of a 79-year-old Prince William County woman.

Detectives on Thursday obtained warrants charging Andy Ralston, of no fixed address, with burglary with intent to commit rape, abduction with intent to defile, armed robbery and object sexual penetration, Prince William County police 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn said.

Police first responded to the 4800 block of the Prince William Parkway about 10 p.m. Tuesday to investigate an unknown situation, police said.

They arrived to find a man inside the victim’s house. When they tried to make contact, they saw a man running to the rear of the house.

Chinn said police arrested Ralston at 4 p.m. Thursday in Fairfax County near the Loudoun County line after a tip.

The victim remained in the hospital Thursday for observation, Chinn said.

Prince William detectives are working with Fairfax police to look at similarities between this case and the 2006 killings of two elderly women in Springfield. Marion Marshall and Marion Newman were both beaten to death in their homes in the same neighborhood. Fairfax police said unidentified evidence determined that the same person was involved.

This is in response to the last comment, I do apologize my spelling and grammer are not up to your par sir however do note i’am not here to please you! Just keep in mind I know this man better than anyone on here therefore I feel as if I could put the community at ease for the simple fact that I know for certain he will not have a chance in this lifetime to get out of prison. And to also clarify one thing no i do not feel a temporary sense of importance by being a direct relative…Honestly I’m more ashamed for being related to this sick person.
And yes he has been convicted in the past for other crimes he’s got 11 felonies on his record and just added 2 class felonies to that, and since your so smart I’m positive you know what kind of time those felonies carry. And the issue with him and where he lived is no ones business he had a place to live he just chose not to give the address. So again thanks for your opinion

“Just to put everyone at ease i’m this p.o.s. daughter and im not proud to be related to such a disgusting person.“
In reference to the above quote:  How do you figure that the fact you are his daughter could put a community of readers at ease?  Do you feel a temporary sense of importance by being a direct relative, assuring us that he will never be getting out?  I didn’t see a Judgment and Commitment Order with your comment.  I would be at ease if your grammar and spelling weren’t so atrocious…
The rest of you vigilantes do not get to be a voice for victims until there is a conviction.
Oh, and what do repeat offenders have to do with this gentleman?  Have you convicted him for other crimes, too, based on what you read in the article?
Since you have a home, he is a bad person, is that it.  Wow, you have a home… so you are mansionless?  Maybe he was displaced, or in between homes…
All of your comments are thoughtless, hasty, and about as ugly as the story itself.  Stick to reading articles and forming opinions in your head, rather than writing them.
How many of you will flag this as inappropriate because you don’t like my comment?  You, the one that wants to do away with political correctness, will you be upset that I am not, by measure of status quo, politically correct?

Just to put everyone at ease i’m this p.o.s. daughter and im not proud to be related to such a disgusting person. To set the record straight don’t worry he’s not getting out of prison ever!! He’s not getting bond he will never see the light of day again and i’m truely thankful the detectives arrested him and now he’s got to do his time for this terrible crime he has commited. Just know i feel extremley bad for the lady and if i could talk to her i would apologize…but really its not my place as far as my dad goes, i dont have one he is nothing but a disgrace to our family and i hope he dies a painful death in prison for all the wrong he has done in his life. not only to this poor lady but to his family as well. He’s is nothing in any of his childrens eyes nor shall he ever be! I have never been so disgusted in my life and wish nothing but the worst for his sorry soul.

The reason animals like this continue is our “justice” system.  After a conviction of a violent crime, a public hanging or two may help these idiots understand that WE will not tolerate their actions.  Just housing, feeding, and educating them on our tax dollars has PROVEN time and time again that it does not work and that our “system” needs a MAJOR overhaul.

As a matter of fact in cases like this,we should all start calling prosecutor and judge on any of the cases.Let the public show we are sick of this and they need to step up.We need to start being proactive at least in calls and emails as a voice for victims.

I hope the sleazy sick thing gets what he deserves.I’m so sick of these things going before a judge and getting a slap on the hand and set free to do it again.Hopefully since it’s been made more public,he’ll get the sentence he deserves.Imagine that poor elderly woman lives to that age and look what this sick thing does.Everyone should keep on top of this story,call/email prosecutor and call/email judge to demand the maximum sentence. If anyone finds name of the judge in case, post it unless I find out beforehand.
