Man charged in four Dale City burglaries
Police have charged a 24-year-old man with four burglaries in Dale City over the last four months.
Wesley Kelvin Brown of no fixed address was arrested Thursday after officers found him hiding in a house in the 14300 block of North Park Court, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.
Patrol officers and members of the police burglary unit were staking out North Park Court about 9:15 a.m. Thursday when they saw somebody suspicious on the second floor of a town house.
Detectives and officers entered the house and found the man hiding.
Brown was charged with four counts of burglary, two counts of grand larceny, two counts of credit card fraud, credit card theft and obtaining money by false pretenses, Hernandez said.
He is charged in connection with the following cases:
* On June 12, a resident noticed someone in a vacationing neighbor's house on North Park Court and entered the house to confront the intruder, who ran. Police were called, but no one was found.
* On March 23, an apartment in the 14300 block of Westminster Lane was burglarized. During the burglary, a lap-top and credit cards were stolen. The credit cards were later used to make fraudulent transactions.
* On Jan. 19, a house in the 14300 block of North Park Court was burglarized. During the burglary, a video game system was stolen. The stolen item was later pawned.
Police say the burglar got in through unlocked doors, or by forcing open windows and doors.
Brown is being held without bond at the Prince William-Manassas regional jail pending an Aug. 4 court date.
