Brooklyn woman charged with assault
A New York City woman has been charged with assaulting a Manassas area woman.
Claudia Beatriz Morataya, 33, of 53 Knickerbocker Avenue, Brooklyn, N.Y., is accused of assaulting a 24-year-old woman around 5:45 p.m. Saturday, while they were inside a store in the 4800 block of Dale Boulevard in Dale City, police said. The victim did not need hospital treatment.
Morataya was held on a $1,000 and will appear in court on Jan. 30.
Woman charged with making threats
A Manassas area woman was charged with threatening to burn down someone’s house during an argument. Lorena Carmen Ruiz Moreno, 32, of 7703 Amherst Drive near Manassas, was charged with threats to commit arson, police said.
She was arrested on Sunday around 3:30 a.m., in the 7700 block of Amherst Drive. Moreno was held without bond.
Man charged with malicious wounding
An Alexandria man was arrested after police said he stabbed a man in his hand at a restaurant on U.S. 1 in Woodbridge.
Marlon A. Zambrano Gonzalez, 22, was charged with aggravated malicious wounding, after police said he stabbed a 22-year-old Alexandria man around 9 p.m. Sunday night in the 13700 block of Jefferson Davis Highway.
The victim was treated at a local hospital. Gonzalez was held without bond.
Area man charged with drunk driving
A Manassas area man was charged with drunk driving. A police officer stopped Matthew Mouzone, 21, of 7407 Peppertree Lane near Manassas, on Thursday night around 10:15 p.m., police said. He was charged with driving while drinking, driving on a suspended license and resisting arrest.
He was held on a $20,000 bond and will appear in court on Jan. 20.
