Stafford business owner found dead

STAFFORD — An apparent homicide took place Thursday morning at or near a Stafford business, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim, James LeRose, 66, was discovered at the Second Time Around store, located at 1183 Warrenton Road. He had suffered severe trauma to his upper body, police said.
A specific cause of death has not yet been determined. The Medical Examiners Office in Richmond is reviewing LeRose’s body, police said.
A member of LeRose’s family found him dead at about 8:15 a.m. after LeRose went to his store at about 6 a.m., as he typically did.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Mr. LeRose,” said Sheriff Charles Jett. “Every available resource of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is being utilized to determine and bring to justice the person or persons responsible for this cruel and senseless act.”
The sheriff’s office is asking anyone has information on this crime, or anyone who saw anything at the store between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, to contact the sheriff’s office at (540) 658-4400.
