Police need help ID’ing man in wreck
Prince William County police are asking for help identifying a pedestrian struck in a weekend crash.
Officers responded to the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge about 7:15 p.m. Saturday, police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez said Monday.
They found that a Hispanic man crossed into the path of a 2003 GMC van that was traveling northbound on U.S. 1, Hernandez said.
The man did not use a designated pedestrian cross walk, she said.
He was flown to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, but he has not been identified.
He is described as about 5 feet 6 inches tall and as weighing 120 pounds, Hernandez said.
He has black hair with a receding hair line, and he was wearing dark colored pants and a dark colored jacket or hooded sweatshirt.
He also had a black tri-fold wallet with a John Deere emblem on it, Hernandez said.
The driver of the van was identified as a 47-year-old woman from Alexandria, she said.
The investigation was ongoing Monday night, and anyone with information was asked to call Prince William police at 703-792-6500.

His choice of clothing is probably a contributing factor to the incident, since it occurred after dark and the driver may not have even been able to see him until it was too late.
The thing I have issue with is that we frequently have Hispanic residents, whether legal or illegal - who don’t speak, read or understand English. If that is the case then they will continue to be run over, run into and not understanding or following our laws. Our signs are in English. Our tests are in English, but are available in Spanish. However, they choose to either have total disregard of our laws or they just don’t give a sh*t. I for one, get so tired of ‘me no speaka English’ that I could scream. I try to be tolerant of everybody, whatever their ethnicity - as my ancestors came from a foreign country and didnt speak much English. But they did not go into an establishment and start speaking Italian and expect that business to provide an interpreter, or to drive on the left side of the road because that was what they learned in their country. They were here legally and did take their oaths seriously enough to start their own business in architecture and never had to ask for help or demand special services due to their inability to function in an American society. So, I hope this poor man, whatever his name is - finds his family or friends somehow and gets better quick. In the meanwhile, Amen and pass the enchiladas.

Jaywalking is a crime matter of fact and he should be fined it will be miniscule compare dto the doctor’s bills that he will rack up and that honest Americans will have to pay for. Why not send him home????

Once before the paper removed 3 of my postings under the same topic that were factual statements on the Catholic church’s sex perverts and lawsuits for child molestation—just a repeat of facts published in most newspapers. I don’t know why—I figured it was the editor, who probably is Catholic.
