Prince William man indicted in triple homicide

The suspect in the December triple homicide in Woodbridge could face the death penalty, after being indicted on capital murder charges this week.
The grand jury Monday indicted Anastacio Sanchez-Miranda, 39, of 3514 Briarwood Drive, Apt. 2, in the Dumfries area, on 14 felony charges, including two counts of capital murder for the Dec. 9 shooting deaths of Juan Manuel Guevara, Rosario Europa Martinez and Gerardo Lopez-Garcia, according to court records.
Sanchez-Miranda was also indicted on three counts of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated malicious wounding and seven counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
A grand jury indictment means that prosectors have sufficient evidence to take the case to trial. It is not a finding of guilt or innocence.
At Sanchez-Miranda's preliminary hearing in General District Court last month, witnesses testified that San-chez-Miranda came uninvited to a house in the 13600 block of Grandview Avenue in Woodbridge around 7 a.m. on Dec. 9.
Twelve people were sleeping at the house at the time after celebrating a 2-year-old's birthday party the pre-vious day.
Sanchez-Miranda forced his way into the house that morning and started shooting, witnesses said.
He is accused of shooting five people—killing three and injuring two—before fleeing to his sister's house in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., where police arrested him five hours later.
Police said they believe that Sanchez-Miranda's estranged wife, Judith Europa, was his intended target that morning. She was not injured. Five children were also in the house that morning, including Europa and Sanchez-Miranda's three children, but none were injured.
Sanchez-Miranda's trial date will be set on April 25.
If convicted of capital murder, he could face the death penalty.

I could tell you that there are similar crimes commited by U.S Citizens (U.S. born)in PWC that out number your statistics in 2000, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06 and 08.

I’ll tell you why his immigration status is important. The US Taxpayers will now be responsible for his incarceration for the next 25 years at a cost of $50k a year. If he was not in the US this would have never happened. We also are responsible for the illegal immigrant family members who will most likely be given some type of humanitarian assistance due to their victim status. You damn right his immigration status matters. You cry about your tax’s being raised by the county but you have no problem with the hundreds of millions of dollars that we expend each year on illegal criminal aliens. I just love the selective outrage of those that post on this site. There not mad at Teddy Kennedy for allowing the influx of millions of illegal immigrants but they sure hate Corey Stewart for standing up for the rule of law. That’s why Liberals will loose again in the next Presidential election. They want to bring another class of victims into the US for pure political gain. If he goes to prison, taxpayers are still going to be paying for him to live in the US. I wonder how much he paid in taxes since he’s been here. Why doesn’t it surprise me there were 12 people sleeping in the house.
Why immigration issues have to come in?. He must be punish because of his horrible crimes. But drop the illegal issues. Get a life and lose the envy to hard working people that becomes wealthier than you in a few years when you haven’t been able to do it your whole life. But is just my opinion.
Maybe he’s treying to assimilate into American society. US jail and prison population proves he has so many citizens to copy.
