Batteries Plus, the nation’s largest retail chain of its kind, will open a Manassas store on Monday.

The new store is at 10689 Sudley Manor Drive.

This is the third store to be opened in the area by Aileen Mitchell, who also owns one in Fairfax and one in Alexandria.

The chain offers a wide variety of batteries, battery-related products and technical support that meet growing battery demands for consumer and commercial customers.

Mitchell estimated that she has about 15,000 batteries available in each of the stores.

In addition to the thousands of batteries, her stores also feature a Tech Center that is equipped to design, assemble, rebuild and test custom battery packs.

Nationwide, the firm supplies Fortune 500 companies, manufacturers, other retail channels, local municipalities, fire and police departments, the armed forces and school districts.

“Our product line includes batteries for both the common and hard-to-find items that are traditionally not available at other retail stores,” she said.

It was for that reason that Mitchell happened to get into the battery retail business.

Mitchell, a resident of Clifton, said she often comes to Manassas to shop and “with the constant growth of the area, it was only a natural place to open a new store.”

The facility will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Each store has upwards of four employees.
