The U.S. District Court in Alexandria sentenced Henry Omozee to 27 months in prison Friday.

Omozee, who operated a tax services company at 14416 Jefferson Davis Highwayin Woodbridge, was convicted in August of filing false tax returns for himself in 2001, 2002 and 2003.

Omozee’s sentence also included one year supervised release, a $300 special assessment and he was ordered to pay $82,430 in restitutions to the U.S. Government.

FBI officials searched Omozee’s office in 2004 and seized his tax returns and related materials.

According to an affidavit on file at U.S. District Court in Alexandria, the Internal Revenue Service conducted a detailed analysis of those tax returns and found that Omozee “understated” the amount of money he made from his tax preparation business.

According to the affidavit, the government lost a total of $84,375 in revenue as a result of Omozee under-reporting his income in those years.
