Giuliani stumps in Dumfries

Giuliani stumps in Dumfries

America’s mayor came to Virginia’s oldest town this morning.

Former New York mayor and presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani stopped in Dumfries to stump for the GOP statewide candidates and for House of Delegates candidate Rafael Lopez.

“The state of Virginia is registering its desire for a governor that understands the value of limited government, understands the importance of keeping taxes low,” Giuliani said in an interview after an appearance before a crowd at an office building in town. “[Republican] Bob McDonnell wants to lower taxes. [Democrat] Creigh Deeds wants to raise taxes.”

On more of a governing topic than a purely political one, the former mayor shared some advice for Dumfries, which has faced severe financial woes recently.

“I would say the thing to do would be to attract more business,” Giuliani said. “Go to businesses, find out what they want and give it to them.”

He said that’s what he did in New York City, and it resulted in 400,000 to 500,000 new jobs.

Look’s more like money is flowing into Lopez if he can pay to have Giuliani in town. Earnie Porta who? Steeler everything that was mentioned by Greg L is true has been confirmed by multiple sources and articles. Lopez by far is the better candidate.

Liberalized:  Thanks for asking.
Torian will not be on my ballot.
Understand that for a long time
that Eastern Prince William County
RULES….again, thanks for asking…

miss mannerless,

are you counting on Torian to fix your “revenue taxation” issue for ya?

hope not, you’ll probably end up being sorely disappointed!

Dumfries is not New York.
Brentsville is not Williamsburg.
Woodbridge is not Manhattan, etc.
Well intended, Mr. Guiliano, am sure,
however perhaps more research should
be done.
When Economic Development Office
was formed for Prince William County
(realize Dumfries is a town). the goal
set was for business to pay 25% of
revenue taxation; however, in fact
the sum from several years ago dropped
from 18% to 14% with residential
taxpayers “picking up the difference”.
How ‘bout us?

Or maybe a bad-bad-bad, naughty preacher-man!

Oh my, sounds like Torian is a bad-bad-bad preacher-man!

This was reported today by Greg L.  If its not true, I’m sure Torian would issue a public denial????

“Luke Torian is a pretty poor nominee for this district when you consider Democrats had better alternatives to pick from and Torian has enough political baggage to fill a bus.  Rumors about infidelity, maintaining an extravagant lifestyle while serving as a church pastor, and his behavior at a local golf club swirl around this district while members of Torian’s congegation wrestle with Torian’s recent announced support of homosexuality, amnesty for illegal aliens, and other doctrinal deviations not to mention the novel idea of someone both serving as a pastor and as an elected official.  A strong opponent would demolish someone like Torian, whose only political experience prior to running was helping to organize an ecumenical group supporting the cause of granting amnesty to illegal aliens.“

A sign Lopez’s campaign is in trouble?

Now that’s how someone who knows how government and business should work, you either want jobs you entice the businesses here or offer more taxes and scare those same businesses away.
