A Prince William Circuit Court judge Thursday ordered a woman convicted of killing her 13-year-old daughter to undergo a mental health evaluation before she is sentenced.

Alfreedia Leona Gregg-Glover, 45, pleaded guilty in July to felony murder, child abuse and filing a false police report for the January death of her adopted daughter, Alexis "Lexie" Glover.

She was scheduled to be sentenced last week, but a judge delayed the sentencing after defense attorney John Notarriani raised doubts about Gregg-Glover's mental health.

Gregg-Glover had asked Notarriani not to present any evidence or argument on her behalf at the sentencing hearing.

Thursday, Eleanor Heath, a jail therapist at the Prince William-Manassas regional jail, testified about Gregg-Glover's mental health and behavior at the jail.

Heath said jail officials are concerned about Gregg-Glover because she does not interact with other inmates and jail staff, often refuses to eat, and refuses to take psychiatrist-prescribed medication.

Gregg-Glover meets with a psychiatrist at the jail once a month, but refuses to speak to the doctor during their meetings, Heath said.

"When she comes in for assessments, she won't talk," Heath said. "She just sits with her head down."

Heath said jail officials do not know if Gregg-Glover is a danger to herself or others.

"We don't know what's going on with Mrs. Glover because she won't talk to us," Heath said.

Prince William Circuit Court Judge Craig D. Johnston ordered that Gregg-Glover undergo a mental health evaluation, which will be used to determine if she is mentally ill and if she should be sent to jail or first sent to a mental hospital for treatment.

Johnston said he ordered the evaluation "in an abundance of caution" though so far the evidence has not convinced him that she is mentally ill.

Gregg-Glover is due back in court for a review of her mental health evaluation Dec. 1.

According to evidence at Gregg-Glover's plea hearing, Lexie was already dead when Gregg-Glover reported her missing from Central Community Library in Manassas on Jan. 7, sparking a massive search for the girl.

A jogger found Lexie's body in a shallow creek in Woodbridge days later.

Police said Gregg-Glover placed the girl's body in the creek before reporting her missing.

The medical examiner said Lexie died of drowning and exposure to cold.

Gregg-Glover faces a maximum sentenced of 51 years in prison.

I’m sure if I had murdered an innocent child and lied to cover it up and am facing 51 years in prison for this I would be speechless too. The only thing wrong with this woman is she is in total SHOCK because she was caught! Treat her dumbazz for shock and ship her on down the road. If she were a male, I doubt if whether she was speaking/interacting would even matter. Her attorney must not be court appointed because he NEVER works this hard pro bono!

Well again we ae talking about our judicial system.  Why are the jail personnel worried that she isnt speaking or interacting with the other inmates or personnel.  She knows she is guilty and so does everyone else except our so called laws…..where was all these so called worried personnel when things happened to Billy Creed at the Manassas jail…..maybe he would still be alive.

No she was never crazy and is not crazy now.  She was a selfish person who bullied a defenseless child.  She is just having her own pitty party it is still all about her.  She will not talk because she cannot bring herself to admit what she did to that child.  She should stay in jail for the rest of her natural life.  Even when the child went for help she lied to get her back so that she could continue the abuse.  This situation still causes me to tear up over what happen to this innocent little girl.

Is she crazy?  Who cares.  How much money are we going to waste on this miscreant? If she isn’t talking now, what makes anyone believe she will, all of a sudden, start talking?

Lexie drowned.  She was alive when this thing put her in the creek according to the ME.  She’s not talking because there is no excuse for this horrendous act.

All of a sudden this thing is mentally ill?  How convenient is that?  Again who cares?

Children’s services didn’t see her as mentally ill or even incompetent.  They believed everything this piece of work said and discounted Lexie.  Now we are concerned about her mental health?  That’s rich…

Gregg-Glover is getting more consideration than poor Lexie ever did.  Send this thing on to serve her 51 years in prison and be done with her….

Not to rewrite any of this over and over, but DUH!!  No one in their “right mind” would do this to a child anyway! I’m sure she knows what she’s doing now.  But of course as discussed previously, there are way too many to blame in this situation. As we all know, Lexie is in a much better place now and I would imagine, very happy and safe!!!  God Bless Lexie…
