Rio de Janeiro wins right to host 2016 Olympics

COPENHAGEN (AP) — The 2016 Olympics are going to Rio de Janeiro, putting the games in South America for the first time.
Rio beat surprise finalist Madrid in the last round of voting.
Chicago was knocked out in the first round — in one of the most shocking defeats ever handed down by the International Olympic Committee — and Tokyo was eliminated in the second round.
Rio had played heavily on the fact that South America has never previously hosted the games, while Europe, Asia and North America have done so repeatedly. Now, only Africa and Antarctica remain as continents that have not been awarded an Olympics.

My response:
Just because someone opposes Obama or supports other countries in their Olympic hosting bids, that does not make them anti-American. I oppose Obama because I love my country and I oppose him on idealogogical grounds, just you probably opposed Bush on. In addition, I don’t beleieve that he is qualified to be President in terms of experience. His speech to the IOC was proof of it. He focused on emotional appeals rather than logical reasons to have Chicago host the Olympics.
I objectively think that Rio would be a better site for the Olympics. Chicago is a crowded city that’s hard to get around. In adition, Chicago has a serious crime problem and a very corrupt city, county, and governments. Besides Rio has a reputation of being a great place to travel to.
In my 22 years of service (retired Navy here) to my country, I have lived in Denmark, Cuba, Italy, and Bosnia. I have many international friends and I’m glad when something goes right for their homelands. It doesn’t mean that I’m anti-American. It’s not a zero-sum game. Therefore, I consider your response was immature and small-minded. BTW, you misspelled “loser”. If you’re going to insult people, use proper and grammer. Otherwise, you’re just showing your ignorance.

I have never claimed to be a republican, because I am not. I choose to think for myself. I refuse to allow myself to be duped as you have by politicians.
The Republican party has made more mistakes than I care to get in to here, the Iraq war for one, one of the biggest clusterfu** messes in history.

I loathe the liberal, support criminals, support losers, sympathize with terrorists, let the rich guy support me, hate any religion except Islam, support illegal aliens who have NO rights to our money, help the less fortunate, but do it with someone else’s money mindset.
In the end, we choose the lesser of the 2 evils, so….

We thought it was disgusting that Obama would try to steal the Olympics for Chicago when Rio, Brazil and even South America have never hosted the Olympics and the USA has many times.
