Another Prince William County teenager has been killed in car crash. She is the second teen to die in a crash in less than a week.
Police said Alyssa Leighann Beach, 16, of the 10000 block of Schaeffer Lane in Nokesville, was driving west in the 12400 block of Vint Hill Road when she lost control of her car, went into a ditch and hit a tree.
She and a 16-year-old passenger, who was also in the car when it crashed, were taken to a local hospital where Beach later died Sunday.
Police said both girls were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash and speed or alcohol doesn’t appear to be a factor.
Both girls attended Brentsville High School.
Beach is the second teen to be killed in a car accident in less than a week.
On Wednesday 16-year-old Shelby B. Nicholson was coming home from the mall when the Chevy Aveo she was riding in collided with a Lincoln Aviator on Old Bridge Road in Lake Ridge.
She was pronounced dead on the scene. The 16-year-old driver was taken to the hospital in a coma.
As of the weekend the girl remained in the coma, a family member said.
Both girls attended Woodbridge High School.

Wow, you think that expressing your grief for the family and friends is going to better the fact that your saying it was her fault. When teens get into an accident its always there fault, but when adults do the same exact thing..its an accident. It doesnt matter what the age to get a license is, there is still going to be the problem of inexperience, changing it to 18 would do nothing, i know plenty of 18 year olds who are no more mature then 16 year olds. People need to watch what they say because this is a horrible tradegy and they dont know who might be reading this..
This sadly, is another young life lost. It is another heart break for her parents. I know that this family has had their share of grief in the past few years and this is simply a tragedy! However, this was an automobile collision, there are no such thing as a motor vehicle ACCIDENT. That term was nixed from public service years ago. In one way or another, the auto collision can be avoided. It takes experience, reduction in speed, not over correcting etc. An accident is something that can not be avoided, collisions CAN be avoided. Sadly life is one lesson or another, over and over…lesson after lesson but sadly too many teens are not able to learn from them. Their flame is being snuffed out too early. To each of the teens out there that may read this…be careful, look out for yourselves & each other. Dry your tears, calm your fears, but learn from this…drive safely!!
I am talking in general (mr. mew). I did not mean to offend anyone. my sympathy and prayers for her parents . but we really need to look in general about all accidents majority involved unexperienced drivers that is my point.
i refused to let my kids have their driver license untill they turned 18.
I have to say I understand the above person’s point, but think that it comes off as you are assuming that the driver did something wrong? You have no way of knowing that and it could easily offend the many people who are in shock and grief right now. At any age a accident can happen, just cuz she was a teen doesn’t make it her fault!
I think the law should be changed so they cannot have license untill they are 18. maybe they will be more mature enough so less death accidents we might have.
