One burglar shot, another stabbed in Woodbridge
Jason Presley
Police say one burglar was shot and another stabbed breaking into a Woodbridge home Sunday night.
James Baumann Jr., 28, and Jason Lewis Presley, 32, are accused in a burglary in the 15100 block of Georgia Road about 11:30 p.m. Police say one of them was armed with a knife.
The 41-year-old resident of the house heard the burglars and went to investigate, said Erika Hernandez, Prince William police spokeswoman.
When the victim saw the two men, a fight ensued. Police said the resident grabbed a knife from one of the burglars and stabbed him.
Baumann suffered stab wounds and the victim had cuts on various parts of his body, Hernandez said.
After fighting one burglar, the victim grabbed his shotgun and shot the second burglar as he attempted to run.
All three men were all taken to the hospital.
Presley and the resident were treated for their injuries. The resident was released.
Baumann remained hospitalized Monday suffering life-threatening injuries.
Presley, of 14205 Chesterfield Road in Woodbridge, was charged with burglary while armed with the intent to commit larceny.
He was held without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April, 29.
Warrants were obtained for Baumann, of 1302 Oregon Avenue in Woodbridge, charging him with malicious wounding and burglary while armed with the intent to commit larceny.
Hernandez said an investigation is ongoing.

Thank goodness, both these guys are being locked up! It just seemed so typical of the Judicial System to let one go that it stuck out on a glance. I was so P O’d.
Speaking of our Judicial “System,“ the legislature passed a law giving lawyers and court officers the right to concealed carry in restaurants even if they drink alcohol. They’re special don’t you know.

Sign the Repeal the Restaurant Ban Petition.
Dale City Gun Show first weekend in April.
And yes his neck is long, but not like the “giraffe burglars.“ It is more like the chicken he is.
Presley was obviously the look out.
Let’s see how far out of the bars he can squeeze that little head.
The boys in prison will have fun with his unusual lengthiness lets say. Strips are slimming.
Where’s our local Commie gun control mouthpiece Ron C. to make up a story saying he was there and it didn’t happen.
I keep looking at that photo, and is it just me, or does that guy have one long freaking neck? The guy’s a giraffe.
Easy there someguy, Presley was release from the hospital, not custody. See the bottom where it says
“Presley, of 14205 Chesterfield Road in Woodbridge, was charged with burglary while armed with the intent to commit larceny. He was held without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April, 29”
So neither Presley nor Baumann are going anywhere.
I agree with the earlier comment. Training is key. He should have engaged the intruders with distance and caution first rather than startling them and getting into a knife fight. Everyone could benefit from some basic firearms classes.
But congrats on prevailing to the resident. It’s not everyone that can encounter two burglars, one armed, and come out on top.
Why in .... was Presley released?!!
People who have let off an accidental round and had to pay a $2,500 bond! This guy was armed! He had the intent and the means to do damage to an honest citizen.
THIS IS EXACTLY WHY WE DON’T NEED TO CUT JAIL STAFF! And, if the jails weren’t full of illegals he would have been held! Tell me again how the prosecutors and judges aren’t liberal idiots.
Everyone should be trained better. This incident shows why they should.
Don’t fight with intruders, shoot them. Distance is your protector.
Glad this turned out alright for the homeowner.
But, people should take each incident seriously. Every time. You think the sound down stairs is actually innocent so the home owners don’t get prepared for the worst.
Each time you have to check something out, think of it as a drill or practice. Improve yourself each time by going over in your mind what might have happened and don’t get complacent.
There is a new show on cable TV called Defense. A very well done for the citizen, not for cops, demonstrations of self-defense in various situations.
And, don’t just talk about your Second Amendment rights; do something. Contact your elected representatives and join a local or national advocacy group like the VCDL or Gun Owners of America.
Haha, serves you right, stupid. Way to go homeowner!
Case in point…keep our 2nd ammendment rights!
Also very refreshing to see a white man’s picuture at the top of the story ![]()
No need to argue illegal immigration….this time.
Good! I wish every burglar in the county received that type of special greeting when they tried to enter someone’s house.
Serves them right. I am glad to know this homeowner protected himself and showed them a quite painful lesson.
