According to the McCain-Palin campaign, her third trip to Virginia, Palin plans to start her day with an event in Leesburg at J.R.‘s Festival Lakes.

Her second scheduled stop is in Fredericksburg at Hurkamp Park.

She plans to finish her Virginia swing with a stop in Salem at the Salem Civic Center.

Relax everyone campaign funds are routinely used by both sides for things like this. Lobbyists are having a field day with both parties, despite Barack’s assertations that their be no lobbyist money, as for McCain, McCain/Feingold was just a ruse to change lobbyist donation methods. Both parties bundle and both parties use lobbyists. Enjoy higher taxes and illegal immigration no matter which one of these jokers gets elected. Hip hip hooray the liberal vs. the socialist. LOL Chris Cummings

Dear Rednecks4Palin:

You are wrong on your charge of conversion.  According to an article by CNN.com (hardly a right wing news source), a law professor explained that sh expenses are perfectly legal as long as the clothes are used during the campaign and not for personal use.  The campaign already announced that the clothes were going to be auctioned off for charity at the end of the campaign to comply with the law.  So there is no “conversion”.  Sorry!

The families of government officials are often included as part of official travel.  This is nothing new.  There is a traditional expectation that the families appear along side the offical at state or federal functions and ceremonies.  Notice that not one Alasksan offical has raised this issue in the last few days.  Partly it’s because GOV Palin sold the governor’s executive jet and saved the state far more than it has spent on her family’s travel.  In fact, most Alaskan residents pay hardly any state taxes because of their stipends from state oil revenues.  So it’s not like they are suffering because they are paying relatively minor amounts for official travel comapred to the rest of the state budget.  Do you really expect that Obama or Biden would leave their wives or small children behind while they fly around the world on AF One or Two?  Not really.  In fact, Nancy Pelosi is trying to get the same previliges for herself as Speaker of the House.

Now, here are the answers concerning your questions about the kids:

PFC Track Palin, US Army.  He’s in the Army and currently serving in Irag.  Already graduated high school.  So he has his chain of command and his Army buddies taking care of him.

Trig Palin.  He’s only 7 months old, no need for school yet.

The rest of the kids.  They have been going back and forth to Alaska and taking their homework with them under the supervisoion of GOV Palin’s parents.  They are both retired schoolteachers with Alaskan teaching credentials.  Often in such cases, the children are assigned special projects related to their travel when they are not in school.  I hope that I have allayed your deep and heartfelt concerns for the Palin children.

JD, I don’t care about the money so much as it’s against the campaign laws to misspend it like that. It’s called CONVERSION. Anyways, when are the kids in school? Last time I checked, they visited Philly, NYC, and DC (all at state cost). DOH!!! Why does she bill her kids’ travel bill to the state and then change (after the news picks it up) the travel reason. How is a KID an official part of anything? The First FAMILY is expected to be somewhere? She’ll justify anything. I’m guessing she’ll drag her kids to Europe on our federal dime. At least Obama has less kids, thus less cost to our deficit.

Dear Phdee:

The last name is Dittmer, please pay attention and be more considerate.  FYI, I make $128,500 a year as an IT consultant with a stay-at-home wife and a kid and I consider myself a middle class worker, especially by the standards here in Northern VA.

In their 2007 income tax return, the Palins made a combined income of about $166,000.  A lot of the “million dollars” you hear about is tied up in their house, their plane, their vehicles, etc.  These are assets not easily convertible on short notice.

With you attitude, you would have only of the government of the rich and for the rich.  I rather have a divesity of people running for public office, not just millionaire lawyers such as Obama and Biden.

According to their interview in People maagazine, the kids are still going to school, doing their homework on the campaign trail.  GOV Palin’s parents are retired schoolteachers and helping with the kids.

Phdee as I said The Republican National Committee is funded completely by donations. If they want to give the Republican vice-president candidate money that is their right. If you didn’t donate to the Republican National Committee it didn’t cost you anything. So why should you care? I didn’t donate, so I don’t waste my time caring how they spend their money.

hink I read the RNC also spent money for Toddie and the kids clothes.  Is this correct? == Why aren’t these kids in school? Who is caring for the baby?

One thing that a lot of people seem to forget that this is the RNC’s money to spend as they see fit.  Sarah Palin is a mother who is supporting fiive children on a salary of $125,000.  Until a couple of month’s ago, she had no idea that she would be running for VP. Everyday until the election, she and her family has to dress professionally for campaign appearances, media events, and othe public appearances.  She does not have the resources to “dress up” for such events on her own.  I consider the purchase of such clothes as legitimate business expenses.  Most people in the media have there professional outfits donated to them by sponsors or their employeers.  I find mking this an issue a distraction from the real issues of this election.

At first I thought “barnstorming” in the LTE headline should have been “brainstorm”.  Then I realized that
“barnstorming” is correct, that she is looking for a pig for lipstick.

The Republican National Committee dose not use tax dollars it is funded completely by donations. If they want to give the Republican vice-president candidate money that is their right. If you didn’t donate to the Republican National Committee it didn’t cost you anything. So why should you care?

How much did it cost for Biden’s hair plugs and Botox treatments?

Phdee (grammar police)  It would take up too much space to post all the incorrect spelling and improper word usage from your posts.  Halloween is coming why not fly off on your broomstick!
