Police blotter of July 11
Prince William police reported the following information:
Dale City
n Checks and cash were stolen from two cars parked in the 4600 block of Abbott Court between 9 p.m. July 4 and 11 a.m. July 5.
The cars were described as a 1999 Chevy Silverado and a 2002 Dodge Caravan. The car doors of both vehicles were unlocked.
n A number of CDs and an iPod with an external hard drive, valued at $515, were stolen from a car parked in the 4600 block of Evansdale Road between 2 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. on July 7.
A second victim in the area reported that her vehicle was rifled but nothing was stolen. There were no signs of forced entry in either case.
Dumfrie
n Police were called to investigate a burglar alarm that went off inside a home in the 2700 block of Brier Pond Circle near Dumfries, about 10:45 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found a basement window had been broken and someone got inside the house. Items inside the home had been moved out of place, but nothing was stolen.
n A video game system, an electric guitar and an electronic car were stolen from a house in the 16100 block of Henderson Lane near Dumfries between 4:30 and 7 p.m. on July 7.
The stolen property was valued at $600.
The homeowner flagged down a police officer to report the robbery.
Lake Ridge
n A blue 4-door 2003 Volvo S-40 was stolen from the 1900 block of Mayflower Drive between 3 p.m. July 5 and 9 a.m. July 8.
The car was parked outside the driver's home.
n A scooter was stolen from a grocery store in the 2200 block of Tackett's Mill Drive about 4:20 p.m. on July 8.
When the victim came out of the store, his scooter was missing.
It is described as a dark blue 2008 Ponny 50, 50cc. It is valued at $800.
Woodbridge
n A laptop computer valued at $1,200 was stolen from an apartment in the 1200 block of Easy Street be-tween 5 p.m. July 3 and 5 p.m. July 4.
There were no signs of forced entry into the apartment.
n A Hypotherm Powermax 45— a torch used to cut metal—was stolen from a trailer in the 1200 block of Easy Street between noon and 7 p.m. on July 6.
The storage trailer was left unlocked. The stolen property was valued at $2,500.
n Two bicycles were stolen from the backyard of a home in the 2700 block of Brier Pond Circle between 2 p.m. July 4 and 5:30 p.m. July 7.
The bikes were valued at $2,250. The fenced-in yard was locked when the bikes were stolen.
n A power washer and a power paint sprayer were stolen from a shed in the 15200 block of Crescent Street between 6 p.m. July 1 and 6:45 a.m. July 8.
The stolen property was valued at $4,000.
