Dumfries man charged with grand larceny
A Dumfries man was charged with grand larceny after police were called to Potomac Mills mall to investigate a report of a theft.
Police arrested Khalil Anan Torres-Almodovar, 18, of 16600 Harwood Oaks Court. He is accused of walking out of a store without paying for $479.96 in merchandise, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.
He was held on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 5.
Woman locks herself in bedroom as items take
Police said a man entered a Gainesville home and asked the occupant about a woman who did not live there. The victim then locked herself in her bedroom and called police.
The incident happened about 6:30 p.m. on Saturday in the 3500 block of Finish Line Drive, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.
The man was described as white, in his 20s, 5 feet 9 inches tall, thinly built and was wearing a black and white T-shirt. He also was wearing a baseball cap.
Homes burglarized while owners slee
Two homes in the 17900 block of Swans Creek Lane in Dumfries were burglarized while the homeowners slept.
The first victim reported that a video game system, video games, a digital camera, checks and cash were stolen, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez. The total amount of the stolen property is $1,205.
A second victim reported that a purse, two cell phones, cash, three iPods, jewelry, two school bags and a lap top computer were stolen from the house, said Hernandez. The total amount of stolen property is $9,340. Entry to both houses was gained by forcing open a window.
Arrest warrent issued for man with shotgu
Police are looking for a man they say used a shotgun to intimidate another.
Officers were called on Saturday about 9 p.m. to a home in the area of Sudley Road and Latham Drive in Catharpin. The caller told police two people were involved in an argument and one of the men had a gun, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.
During the argument, Hernandez said, the accused stepped out of his vehicle with a shot gun in his hands and threatened the victim. An arrest warrant for brandishing a firearm has been obtained for Alex Schultis, 19, of 3502 Aldie Road in Catharpin.
He is described as white, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
Police search for man who robbed bakery
Police are looking for a man they said robbed the La Flor De Puebla Bakery at 10460 Dumfries Road at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, while a 53-year-old woman was inside, said Manassas police spokesman Sgt. Tim Neumann.
She was confronted by the burglar who entered by an unlocked door. He implied that he was armed with a gun and demanded money, said Neumann.
The victim said the owner had already taken all the money and left for the night. He left without taking anything, said Neumann.
The man was described as black, 17 to 25 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and wearing a black shirt, khaki shorts and red sneakers. The burglar covered his face with what appeared to be a red and black checkered scarf or shawl, said Neumann.
