This really should not be an issue about smokers and non smokers but the rights of an owner to choose how they run their business.  The true poll should be, “Are you in favor of government controlling private business?”  Also I disagree with splitting the “Yes” vote in this poll into the “Yes I fear…” and “Somewhat.”  It should have been just “Yes” and “No” and “Undecided” If it were that way as it stands now it should be (59% Yes) and (35%  No) giving you a better idea of the opinions expressed.

GVTH8r:

Should be separations and plenty of ventilation.  cough, cough.  So you do admit the smoke is a big nuisance?

Other states have already been doing it. They will just open an outdoor section for people to drink and smoke or people will gather in front of the buildings and smoke in the doorway like all other bussinesses do.

There are places we would not go because of the smoking. Hard Times Cafe is one.  Even though the pool area where people smoke is seperate from the resturant area, you can still smell the smoke. And the last time I went there I walked out smelling like smoke. I never went back. If they decide to close in the pool area, they still have to make a way to get to the bathrooms with out going through the smoke. Yuk!!

I have never understood why an owner of a bar can’t decide whether or not to allow smoking. Just more big brother.
I do not smoke myself, but if I don’t like it I can go elsewhere. I do however, agree that there should be separation and plenty of ventilation.
