Calling all seniors!  You are encouraged to attend a meeting at the Manassas Senior Center on Tuesday that will introduce you to possible cuts to the Prince William County budget that will affect area senior programs.

The meeting, which starts at 10 a.m., will present three possible scenarios, and how each will affect senior programs in our community.

According to recent news reports, Corey Stewart, chairman of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors, has announced budget cuts of 20 percent across the board. If this is correct there will be several consequences for the center, including the transportation and lunch programs.

Welcome home veterans

Welcome home our veterans by writing letters that are presented to returning soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines upon their return to BWI. The Veterans Outreach Center will include a "goodie bag" with each letter as they welcome our vets home. Leave your letter or post card at the office and they will be forwarded to the volunteer organization for delivery.

Monday means movies ... and lunch, too

Monday is movie day at the center. As always, the movie will begin at 11 a.m., with an intermission at noon for lunch. Come and enjoy a movie while relaxing in the comfortable chairs in the conference room. Participants are welcome to stay for lunch.

To reserve a meal sign up at the front desk by 10 a.m.

Seniors, standing tall

The Stand Tall, Don't Fall classes are continuing, and new participants are always welcome. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 and 10 a.m. Seniors at every level of fitness are welcome to attend. Start the holiday season off right by getting fit.

Happy Hoofers healthy

The Happy Hoofers entertained at Birmingham Green to an enthusiastic audience on Tuesday.

We were excited to have eight healthy dancers. It's been weeks since we've had that many healthy members at one time. Our injured reserve list is slowly getting shorter.

We have already started work on our December program, which will feature holiday music.

The Manassas Senior Center is at 9320 Moby St., Manassas. Call 703-792-6405.
