Micron Technology Virginia, Manassas, recently hosted the Prince William County Step Out to Fight Diabetes Walk.

The event started and finished at Micron and consisted of a 3.1-mile walk through Innovation Park and the Prince William Campus of George Mason University. This was the third year that the company has been a sponsor of the event.

Guest speakers included Stacey Capers of the television show “Biggest Loser” and Ken Harvey, a former Washington Redskins player. Youth ambassador Jacob Rader and the firm’s Elite Feet fundraisers cut the ribbon and led the walk.

“Micron continues to recognize the importance of health and wellness to its team members and the community. We are pleased that we could be the start/finish host of this important event again. We realize that this is a challenge facing our community and are glad that we were able to support the American Diabetes Association goals with this event,” said Raj Narasimban, site director of Micron.

More than 110 Micron team members and their families participated in the walk and conducted dedicated fundraising events during October to help prevent, cure and improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. Amy Harris with Micron was one of the co-chairmen for this year’s event.
