Neighborhood news: Bel Air Womans Club to hold sale

The Womans Club will have its yard sale today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Covenant at 15008 Cloverdale Road in Dale City. The group also has its annual International Dinner coming up and recently hosted “Picnic in the Park,” which was a great success thanks to Nancy Schaney, who worked very hard to make it great. Recently as well, the ladies made fleece lap blankets for recovering troops, which was a very nice way of showing support. The group is always looking for new members. It meets the fourth Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church of Dale City on Minnieville Road.

Civic association

The Dale City Civic Association will hold its annual Community Recognition and Awards Banquet in January and would like to extend this invitation to those who would like to nominate someone for one of its very prestigious and heartfelt awards. Nominations are being accepted for Catherine Spellane Citizen of the Year, Kathleen Seefeldt Community Service Award and the Ernestine Jenkins Lifetime Volunteer Achievement Award.
