Neighborhood News: Lady Indians car wash today

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

Head on over to Gar-Field this morning for a good car wash and a good laugh. The Lady Indians Softball Team is over there having a Halloween car wash to raise money for their uniforms and their annual Myrtle Beach Tournament for Spring Break. Drive on over and have your ride washed by some crazy characters. The whole team heads down to Myrtle Beach each spring break for The Grand Strand Tournament and its quite the experience for these young athletes.

Safety reminders

Just a friendly reminder to all the trick or treaters tonight. Not a good idea to use sharp objects as part of your costume, avoid trick or treating alone, put some reflective tape on yourself and on your treat bag so you will be seen by drivers, examine ya treats, before ya eats! Take a flashlight with you, don't let yourself get a skin irritation—test that costume makeup on a small area of your skin before coating your face up with it, look before crossing the street, don't wear masks that block your vision, don't enter treat givers homes and never ever walk near a lit pumpkin or trail light.

Poinsettias

The Gar-Field Athletic Boosters Annual Poinsettias Sale is on. This means all your local Indians athletes are trying to sell the poinsettia plants to benefit their individual teams. Please support them. If you do not know a Gar-Field athlete, call the school at 703-730-7000 and they will get you in touch with someone to help you.

Bel Air Womans Club

They would like to send out a big thanks to Betty Varner, Pam Taylor and Karen Attreed, who recently got together to clip coupons for the Atsugi Naval Air Station as part of the club's coupon clipping program for this facility in Japan. The ladies clipped a whopping total of $1,418 worth of savings. Last year the club shipped over $10,000,000 in coupons to bases.

DECA

The Distributive Educational Clubs of America Gar-Field students are currently selling pizzas and magazine subscriptions to help fund their December trip to NY.
