Coming up next month the VFW Post 1503 will be having its annual Holiday Craft Show on Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Post's location on Minnieville Road. Civic association show

Helping non-readers become readers

Literacy Volunteers of America-Prince William would like to invite you to have the wonderful opportunity of teaching someone to read. They are always looking for compassionate individuals who are willing to give some of their time to help an adult become a reader. They have many adult students just waiting to be matched with volunteers. This is a non-profit organization that offers free tutoring to adults in the county. Previous experience is not necessary. Military appreciation

Northern Virginia Community College will hold a Military Appreciation Day on Nov. 4 from 11 a.m.to 3 p.m. It will be held in the first floor atrium. Active duty military, retirees and their dependents can enjoy refreshments and giveaways while collecting info from the Disabled Veterans, VFW, Military Survivors Education Benefits Program and Concurrent Admission Program.
