Neighborhood news: Don’t miss last farmers market

This Saturday is the last time this year that the Farmers Market will return to Dumfries from 8 a.m. to1 p.m. at 3890 Cameron St. in Dumfries (off U.S. 1, at the corner of Washington and Cameron streets). Fresh produce is always available as well as pumpkins, and you can shop the various craft booths or buy a hot dog from the Boy Scouts. Come and enjoy the fall weather. Weems-Botts Museum

The Weems-Botts Museum's Ghost Walks and Lock-ins fund-raiser begins Saturday. The Haunted Heights Ghost Walk, a 30- to 45-minute walking tour through Dumfries' Haunted Heights, includes the ghostly cemetery dating to the 1600s, where stories of hair-raising adven-tures of past gravediggers are told. Tours start every half hour between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. The Haunted Museum Lock-in gives you the chance to stay the night in "the most haunted house in Dumfries": the Weems-Botts Museum. The evening begins at 9 p.m. with the Haunted Heights Ghost Walk, followed by entry into the museum. The lock-in ends at 6 a.m.

Space is limited and reservations are required for both the Haunted Heights Ghost Walk and the Haunted Museum Lock-in. Ghost Walks are $5 for adults, $3 for children. Lock-ins are $50 per person and payment must be received within seven days of making your reservations.
