Neighborhood News: Enjoy eats, gifts at craft show

The women of Dumfries United Methodist Church will host their annual holiday craft show Nov. 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church at 3890 Cameron St. in downtown Dumfries.

The event will feature many unique and beautiful handmade and hand-painted items for sale at reasonable prices. The bake sale table will be loaded with homemade goodies—all made by the ladies of the church, and some by the pastor. Breakfast and lunch will be available courtesy of the church choir.

The public is invited shop, have breakfast and stay for lunch. All proceeds support mission projects locally and around the world.  For more information, call 703-221-7440.

Lions Club plans dinner to honor vets

On Wednesday, the Dumfries Potomac Lions Club will sponsor a Veterans Day Recognition Dinner.

This dinner will honor veterans and all the military currently serving to keep our nation safe.

The Rev. Danny Dickerson will speak and Linda George will perform music. Both are retired Army.

The event will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Dumfries-Triangle Rescue Squad at 3800 Graham Park Road in Triangle. The cost for this dinner is $25 per person and payment will be accepted at the door. Reservations are required. Call Lion Mary Coleman at 703-221-3779.
